Weekend update. Didnt do a great deal in the garage until Sunday. Full day up my sleeve, but first on the list was to load up the Goblin with all the winter curse word that had amassed and clear out the garage. Following that, I pulled it in and had a crack at a few things. Naturally, the susension had to wait as I am still awaiting parts, but I had a crack at fitting the Version 8 intercooler.
I'll save lengthy updates, and skip to the end. It doesnt fit. The current inlet fouls it on so many places that it would make more sense to swap the inlet manifold than modify anything else on it.
Somewhat defeated, I got the dremel out and chopped off some rusty nuts from behind the front bumper. This enabled me to de-tango the car and finally get my clear indicators fitted..
As I had cleaned the garage, and I wasn't in the mood for getting caked in filth, I decided to gut and clean the car...
Removed evidence of the last murder from the boot, and repaired the rattly aftermarket tweeters in the rear shelf. Amazing stuff that Gorilla Glue!
Inside scrubbed up well too.
I even bust out the machine polisher after washing it. This is after 2 full runs over the car with some polish...
Not too bad I have to say. I didnt hold much hope for it, but those dark greens always polish up well...
Anyway, more oily bits in the pipeline... tie rods have arrived, along with balljoints. Just awaiting front driveshafts (cheaper than buying CV boots!) and the replacement springs and shocks will go on too...
