Just acquired this little beauty to tinker with In my spare time. Long term plans include slammed suspension on banded 16" steels with chrome Volvo centre caps, hidden stereo upgrade (original head unit to remain in situ) Really really long term plans include Rover V8 mated to the 5 speed manual box and dual stainless pipes. Other than that, just going to enjoy the smell of 1989 every time I drive it!

You'd probably get more power out of a turbo'd redblock easier than dropping an RV8 in. Lovely looking car.

Looks really nice, still miss my engine donor 760 tic saloon.
Personally I would drop in a B230FT and turn up the boost rather than a V8 as you will get more power and still have the signature Volvo tractor soundtrack.

Well done can't beat a good old 740 estate. Not that I'm biased of course.

That looks like a solid old tank, nice one...!
I don't think a Rover V8 would be the right choice for this car...
Please do keep us posted whatever you choose to do to it. I'm sure the results will be spot-on!

[br Had a Turbo wagon before and not overly bothered about outright power this time. I just like the sound of a nice V8 with decent pipes. Standard Rover V8 is only around 150-160hp, so won't be a racer. Alternative lump I'm looking at is the Lexus LS400 V8, as it's 280ish bhp straight away, but don't know if I can be arsed with all the wiring and ECU nightmare.

I guess your doing something incorrectly. It is photo bucket, sometimes it plays around. Did you do anything different to how you done the 1st post???

Its so long since I posted the first lot of pics, I cant remember what I did! That was the first time I'd used Photobucket, so it was probably luck more than judgement that made it work last time! I need to work it out though, as I've got to post some pics of my Rover 100 that I've got listed for sale on here....

There's a few ways to do it, I've always done it like this. The other way is when you're on photobucket the IMG code under 'Share links'. I'm no good at explaining, but this thread, section 2, explains well

Lol OK. On the right hand side of the page on photo bucket full site there is 4 columns one of them is the 'IMG code' (should be the bottom one) copy the code and then paste it on here. That make any sense to you?

That make any sense to you? I had been doing it that way, but for some reason it didn't want to work. Its a new laptop, so maybe theres some kind of update needed or something technical like that Lol
