Any chance of decreasing the age limit? It seems to have been the same since I joined. Maybe not on an every year basis but at least every few years?
I would suggest nothing newer then 2003, there are both interesting and bargain bucket cars that cant be listed because of the rule.
Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Your 'Ride' is anything you want it to be - If you have done something 'interesting' with a vehicle post it up! If it keeps you happy then thats part of the fun! ...and the spirit of 'Retro Rides'!

Champ I think mgbizzle is talking about the for sale section which is strict on the pre-2000 rule.

Champ I think mgbizzle is talking about the for sale section Yes, this is what I meant sorry it wasn't clear. I'm not sure how others would feel about it as it is a "retro" car forum, however I like the sales section on here and find a lot of semi modern cars interesting as well as useful to run alongside a retro car.

I agree, maybe we should have a new section which is a reverse of the "not particularly interesting but older than 2000" sales section and have an "interesting but newer than 2000" sales section ? The tricky bit would be policing "interesting" i guess but maybe could introduce some kind of £1 per advert payment?

I personally don't like that idea as it opens the section up to all manor of cars, as like you said what defines interesting?
Another reason I also like that section is it a sort of "bargain bucket" of cars and if it is open to all ages that would all change.

Thing is, there are plenty of places to sell more modern cars, there are not plenty of old car forums to sell older cars, particularly modified ones. We added in the pre-2000 section because frankly it was annoying deleteing loads of threads of newer cars. However I'm not about to open it up for more because as I say that is serviced elsewhere and those places are perfectly good to use. What I want in all honesty is to open up Cars For Sale and see cars from 60's, 70's, 80's and early 90's and nothing else. It is getting there now which is nice. We do occasionally let the odd newer thing slide because they have been heavily modified or very well modified... but so many half wits can't see the difference between a heavily modified RX8 and their bog stock Mondeo that we've had to stop making exceptions now. So there you go.. a retro cars for sale section for retro cars
