I was wonder if anybody on here uses an Endoscope for working on their cars and what type?
I know there are some which are proper endoscopes and some which could be best described as a camera and a few led lights at the end of a long usb cable to work with a laptop or pc.

Yes I have used a Snap On one with a built in screen for looking for bits of something in an engine.
I believe some cheap ones come up on offer in Lidl every now and then for under £100.
I would say a handy thing to have rather than essential kit.
Oh. We refer to them as bumscopes and no longer borrow the one we previously did as we now know where it's been.

I've got one I bought off eBay for under £30. Works fine but needs a laptop. Not used very often. If I was after one again then I'd go for a smaller camera head and built in screen. The Lidl ones MonzaPhil mentions are the type of thing I'd recommend rather than a USB to laptop type I have.

Ive got an Olympus Iplex one that was used for inspecting jet engines, I was given it when I worked for a turbine repair company after they replaced their gear.
I hardly use it but its handy for inspecting bores and crankcases, Ive also used it for sills and to check for wax coverage! The one I have cost £30k new so probably a bit excessive...
Ive seen the aldi one, the picture quality looks good and fot the price you cant fault it, but I'm sure its probably one of those nice to have things rather than a necessity
