Nissan Sunny ZX coupe. A friend of mine still has his tucked away in the barn waiting its turn. The last one of these I saw in the wild was a white one in Sheffield, but that's got to be five or six years ago now.

What about the Datsun Cherry Turbo, a rare beast even when they were still in production. My father-in-law was the service manager at a Datsun Dealers when these came out in the 80's, remember going out in one with him, fast car in its day. I think I'm right in saying they were the fastest production car in their class at the time, but they were proper un-cool, I'd love one now, can't be many around

Great movies, Captain Chaos was a role model for a young RetroAde. Da - Da - Daaaaa!!!

Fairly sure that was a Subaru of some description. *Edit* A Subaru GL in the first one and a Mitsubishi Starion in the second.

Forgotten Heroes? The Subaru Leone III qualifies definately. It was an agricultural runaround, but a Turbo-Rallye-thing too. Predecessor of the legendary Impreza. Every bodystyle available with Turbo-Fulltime-AWD-transmission. Went like stink, sounds great (boxer-engine) and looks cool (frameless windows, 80s-tastic design). There was a Turbo RX too with checkered interieur. and the Coupe-version of the Leone III, the RX Turbo: Almost extinct nowadays, but popular in the 80s.

We've got two of them in our workshop at the moment, both owned by the same guy who worked for Subaru UK at the time they were release and one of the cars has a Subaru Gilet and couple of magazines with road tests of the time in it. Drives really well actually and pulls really well. 1.8 Flat Four Turbo, permanent 4wd, air suspension, a drag co-efficient as low as many of today's Ferrari road cars, even the door handles have a flap to make the flush and air channels down the side of the car. Wacky interior with everything on stalks and an adjustable steering column with which the instrument binnacle moves too.

Of course Subaru XT. I was so fascinated about the RX Turbo Saloon that I must have changed names in my head. Sorry.

Renault 19 16V Chamade Not a common site even back when. Probably preferred the Phase 2 but the Phase one gets more retro points.

MK2 Astra SR. Had a black one on a `C` Plate, pretty much because it was one of the few insurable hot-ish hatches in the early 90`s yet still had similar performance to the Ford XRs of similar vintage.
