'Page not found' but Costco stuff is normally good quality for DIY'ing and if it doesn't do the job then they will refund without question so if you are happy with the price then go for it, Costco won't sell jacks that have not been tested and proven to be safe.

I know a few people who have them and they're very good quality. They lift to a decent height too so you can get some decent stands under the car. They didn't have them for ages but I think I'll treat myself to one soon.

Personally unless you want a jack that is light enough to maul in and out of a car boot then I'd say buy a cheaper steel of same spec every time - and spend the difference on other toys BTW topping up the oil in your current jack will probably restore it to raising to it's full height.

And if the seal gone they are often easy to replace.

Nothing wrong with the jacks sold at Costco, they are a generic product sold under many different badges. My only gripe with Costco is that they're meant to be cheap, and once you add the VAT their tools ain't particularly cheap.

Great jack, I had one for years and it got lots of abuse and finally started leaking.
Bought a replacement from Costco when they were nearer £100 and didn't feel ripped off. Now considering a second for the garage now they're back at a cheaper price, cos lets face it 2 jacks are useful.

Dude those castors are wibblepoo! That is surely £40 wasted. You can tell if it's cheap, if it has a clip that goes on the end of the hydraulic pump, and is just clasped tight over the end. The clasp just opens with use and comes off and it no longer works. I've gone through a few of these. This is the same as the yellow Halfords jack for a bit more - it's much better than the other ones, but it has the same clip which will eventually come off.

Dude those castors are wibblepoo! That is surely £40 wasted. They are better castors than both trolly jacks that broke from ecp and machine mart that cost more money. Nothing wrong with any part of the Jack so far and what's £40 on a jack?

Nothing wrong with any part of the Jack so far and what's £40 on a jack? I bought mine for £30, used of course and infinitely better than one of those halfords jobs. And as for what's £40 on a jack... well considering it's the only thing between a car and your head at times, maybe not enough

A jack should never be the only thing between a car and your head.
Sorry if that sounds pompous / obvious / insert derogation of your choice here - but it can't be said too often. Seen a guy under a car once - and that's once too often.

I've run a costco alloy one in my workshop for the last 4 years or so. Great jack still going strong today.
Only advice is when you get it check every nut/bolt is as tight as it should be and throw some thread lock onto the main body cross bolts, don't think the assembly quality control is quite there sometimes.
Other than that its been great, not needed topping up with oil at all and still lifts as high as ever Which is more than can be said for my sealey steel one i bought about the same time, thats been topped up 4 times and had the seals replaced once aswell........
