Beautiful car whichever it is, and good luck with the sale. I was always led to believe that the audi version had the hazard warning lights on a stalk as in the 80 / 100 etc whilst the vw had a switch? Also the audi had a temp gauge where some lesser model polos didn't?? Either way it's a lovely car and I'm sure someone will snap it up!

Just heard back from Audi asking for the details so hopefully they will let me know soon.

You've probably seen this yourself but I've spotted this on another forum which would make yours is a 1977 Polo?.

As it say from July '76 they are the same so there is no way to tell.
I have the logbook and it was made on 28th Dec '76....

Great to see it's what you assumed it is. Gonna stick my head on the line here now - I'm not sure mentioning that the car owes you £3k and then sticking it up for £4.5k is necessarily going to be a selling point. Don't get me wrong, it's a super rare, lovely little slice of uber-cool VAG; I just don't think bring blunt about how much the car owes you is going to help...

I can see where you're coming from, but I'll take an offer on it.
People are trying to make money left right and centre on here without admitting it so at least people know the score this time.
The market for these is quite small and it's gonna take someone a very long time to find another one, then you have to risk your cash either buying it blind (as I did) or paying to go out to Europe somewhere to have a look.
I don't think it's an unreasonable price when you consider the risk I took and the effort you would have to put in to find another one in this condition.
Too late now anyway, the truth is out. I guess the question is, can anyone handle it?

At the end of the day why shouldn't you make a profit on it? Just because you got it cheap doesn't mean you have to sell it cheap...

Yeah if anyone is put off by the fact that he might make a grand out of it, they're welcome to fanny about going off to France to find another one themselves!!!! He's hardly retiring to the flippin costa del bumcrack on the proceeds of this once in a lifetime deal is he. And since when did too much honesty jeopardise a sale?

Surprising Skoda, I think it may be worth you reading the first bit of the post again.
