Tell me about the mazda xedos v6 supercharched

Anyone know if this engine the supercharged one will bolt on to the mx5 gearbox?

Seems a cheap why of some retro rear wheel drive power if its possible.

Later on he uses a Mazda KL V6 which has also been swapped into MX5's using an adapter plate to mount to the MX5 gearbox if I remember rightly.

Presuming it uses the same bolt pattern as the non-blown V6 then I would doubt the supercharged V6 would bolt straight up. Also the Miller cycle engine is designed for efficiency rather than power so I don't know how much of a worthwhile swap it would be?

There is a build thread of a guy on here who's putting a KL V6 in his MX5 and looks to be adding a couple of turbos, may be worth keeping an eye on that one

If you going to turbo or supercharge most use the KLDE (found in probes and uk mx-6) with 165bhp standard. The KLZE (found in import mx-6) is higher compression and 200bhp but wont like the boost so much. I run a ZE in a probe i have. Probetalk in the states is a good site for anything to do with this motor
