Wow! 3 spokes! How 90's. Don't know to love or hate them. Check the chome arch trims. There not as standard and often used to hide rust.

This i know, I’ve popped them all off for a quick look, there is one scab on the left hand front, and the left rear is mint, the right rear is good, one tiny scab on the inside edge, and the right front is totally pumped, but i knew this before i took the trim off, so a replacement will soon be on the way, the others i can live with for now.
Thanks for the offer Liam but I have some new wheels en route, a colleague has bought them for me while on leave, so I won’t have them until next Sunday so watch this space!

Right, got the MOT fail bits sorted, she was no longer leaking water so they were able to do the emissions test, and guess what? She failed! On CO2, it’s allowed to be 3 or something and she was 10. So last night I thought a good starting point would be a service, took out a filthy air filter, and the plugs were clearly old and the gap was about half a mile, i also cleaned out the metering head, and put it all back together. She does seem to be running much better but i cant be sure about the emissions, i think the MOT man has taken pity on me and is going to re test today.
Does anyone have any experience of tuning the fuelling on these, I’ve read a few different things, but cant seem to get a definitive answer, any help would be much appreciated!
Everyone please keep everything crossed!

Mine never idled quite right and had a very twitchy throttle, it's Bosch K-Jetronic and unless you can find a specialist (not many left now) it's a real dark art to work on it. You can get books but I was always too scared, judging by the chewed screws on mine I think the slightly iffy running was due to someone playing with it at some point.
Got a private road? Italian tune-up?

Good luck with the re-test... Let us know the results as soon as you know!
With regards to tuning the FI setup I'm sure it'll all end up being a-ok very soon! As suggested above, try the 'Italian' method!
Keep us posted...

Thanks for the advice guys,
I spent quite some time last night hooning it around camp and the fuel that in there is pretty much a 50/50 Super unleaded RedEx Mix so fingers crossed that plus the service will do it.
Its at the MOT place now, i took it at lunch time, but as he’s doing me a cheeky second re test he couldn’t give me a specific time, so I’m waiting to hear back.
On a more posotive my Pal will be back on Sunday with the new wheels, so MOT or Not She will be getting new shoes!

Hi again I've been a bit slack with this thread to say the least! In Brief she got through the MOT after having to get a wizard (he actually looked like a wizard) in to tinker with the fuel injection, he only charged me £30 and the lovely MOT man gave me yet another re test for free! It the celebrated by exploding the hose that goes from the engine to the heater matrix, so I have done a temp fix cutting out the holed part and putting in a length of copper for some Victorian BHP gains, I will replace the hose when the mood takes me! Other than that I have put about 300 miles on here, other than the noise from the diff and the clutch release bearing she drives perfect! Have a photo of a slightly run down Mercedes in front of a very run down Mansion There will be a propper update soon, as I have many jobs to do!

Oh I almost forgot I bought these for a princely £100 I will treat them to a DIY refurb and get them on there, I'm going for the 90's low end drug dealer look, so I may even do the centres Gold!

Got it in one!
I would assume its the same car, the Lady i got it off was origionally from Keith i believe, and then ahd lived in Forres I think, she had had it since 97, so its spent some time in the local area.
The wheels were a bit of a lucky break, a lad I work with went home on leave and they were for sale round the corner from his gaff, so he squeezed them into the back of his E30 Coupe and fetched them up north. There is never anything cool for sale up here, except the car its self of course.

Why thank you very much, its very odd but it gives me a lot of pleasure driving this old thing, even more than my R129 SL, which was one of my Bucket list cars, but ultimatly left me cold. I suppose part of it is this 190 stands me at 1/10 what the SL did.
Tonight is going to be a busy one, going to drop the diff oil, and get some slightly thicker stuff and some Molyslip in there see if that improves things any, and if the mood takes me i shall do the engine oil too, and underseal the front subframe, I had an advisory for surface corrosion on the MOT, ive wire brushed it it all looks solid, so i will slap some waxoil on there.

Right well I fetched the car into work tonight to get the list of jobs somewhere above started, but as all the lifts were in use for real work, can you believe that? I decided to just get the Diff oil changed, as I would be working on my back on the floor. First challenge was to get the full and drain plugs out, needless to say it was evident that they had not been removed in quite some time! Have a photo of the plugs before and after a quick clean, they appear to have come out of the sea, So once they were out the oil came out, this was even more of a worry, there is evidence of moisture, burning all the horrors are present in this oil, So at this point I wasnt holding out much hope an oil change would make much difference, but I stuck a tube of Molyslip and the new oil in. I will be honest it seems a bit better, but it's still screaming away, so the current plan is to change the subframe bushes see if that will isolate the sound a little, failing that a rebuild or replacement, sighhhhh

Its quite bad to be honest, its more of a whine than a rumble, which suggestes bearings to me, I can live with it, I just turn the radio up, Like I say I'm going to do the mounting bushes, and see if that improves things, if not I will keep my eyes open for another diff, either a good one that I can swap over or one for refurb.
