gold turd (mk4 escort xr3 rep) whats it worth?

originally a 1.3 it now has a 1.6 carb engine fitted with 5 speed box, short mot(a guess 16th march 2015 but will find out) and tax don't really matter anymore, it runs and stops goes around corners etc,

known problems are, needs a handbrake cable, jet washers don't work, carb/choke needs setting up properly, passenger window don't open or close, drivers window don't go all the way up(few teeth missing on window regulator)its gold, matt at the front gloss at the back, and lowered quite alot,

for a new mot in my opinion it would need atleast, jet washers looking at, handbrake sorting, carb playing with maybe? i have it running quite nicely at the moment but don't now if its up to mot standards, and possibly a new front number plate, there could be more but looking at the car it does look rust free but i have not seen underneath,

i swapped this car for my renault 5 last year and i regret it but fancied a change and had the intention of reverting this back to a standard look which due to a recent health problem i am no longer able to do,

i am gladly going to scrap this car sometime before the mot runs out through no fault of its own its just not my cup of tea but thought i would put it on here to see if anybody wants to save it,

any ideas what its worth? can take more pictures if needed.

scrap is 60 a ton near me so don't be to hasty - its worth about 200/250 ish as the standard ones don't make to much more than that, shame mk4's arnt worth to much at the moment, also shame your to far away or i would have been interested

Mk4's are on the up. Minters are making £2k with projects being had for around £200/300.Scrap at the mo is around £60 to £70 a ton, TBH if you have the space strip it. If the shells solid there's a re shell for a RS turbo, 90spec bumpers are making upwards £80 on there own atm, bodykits are easy enough to sell, alloys not a lot.. I maybe interested in a few bits as Yarmouths only a few hours up the road, Does it have a rear wiper?

The price of scrap is rumoured to be falling next week. The best thing you can possibly do is put it on Ebay 99p start or BIN and set a price, i bet you will get a fair bit more than scrap value, or as chrism1 says the way to go is breaking it.

minters are not making 2k....they're up for 2k and have been for the past 6months as I'm always snooping about ebay haha

i had a black 2 door one 1.3 - i had trouble getting rid of it even tho black is a rare colour, think it went for 225 or somthing in the end, shame really

i don't think it has a rear window wiper but i do have a few spares including a spare boot lid which might have one,

i know i had a standard one about 7-8 years ago and thought it was a great little car it drove so smoothly, unfortunately this one has been modified and its not a great example.

with my health the way it is i don't think i am up for stripping it, i didn't realize scrap was that low but i don't want the hassle of having a car sitting there with no tax or mot so might not have a choice, i will put it on here and maybe a ford forum and advertise it for offers, is there a ford forum anyone would recommend?

Most of the main forums charge a fee for advertising, in some cases upto £10. Try it on eBay with a 99p no reserve auction for a week.if it doesn't sell then weigh it in.
