Wonder if it was the gits that stole the clamshell trailer on here? they used an old defender too. As the cops couldnt find it 5 mins later, Wonder if it ended up in a closed trailer down the road for example?

It's quite a big distance between the 2 but sounds plausible.

Sounds about right , any old car , yet alone something as unique as that would stand out like a sore thumb being driven or towed .

Thieves used a Series 1 Land Rover which was found burnt out near Ripley
Escort was stolen from Trackspeed, on the Portsmouth Road, Ripley GU23 6HB - at 9.20pm on Tuesday 3rd March 2015. The garage was ram raid by an old Land Rover, and the Escort dragged out of the showroom on a chain, last see on CCTV being dragged towards Ripley and the A3. Mark says that the footage shows at least 3 people involved & that there was possibly another vehicle involved. Police arrived within 5 minutes - no sign of it! Many of you will know the car from some of the Ford shows a few years ago and visits to Boxhill. The car is totally unique, it is exactly as pictured below - Reg: DAD 422K and number 27 is still on the door and bonnet. TVR 5 liter V8 race engine under the bonnet, full race spec. Any information please get in touch, forget the insurance money, this car is irreplaceable and just i want it back! Please please any help or information greatly appreciated. I will post more detailed pictures in the morning. mark_mccracken@hotmail.co.uk 07899862900
I'm waiting on Mark emailing me the full spec of the car

Hi, No disrespect to the owner of the Escort and I hope he gets the car back because it is of more value to him than the insurance. But does anyone else find it ironic that the thieves steal, smash up and burn out a series 1 land rover which could be nearly as valuable as the Escort?

Colin There logic - It not mine so i don't give a sh** . Lets face it , they may just be nicking that to strip for bits for there own cars or sell , and cut the rest up . No thought for cost , rarity , or heartache caused .

I am sure this has been said before but all this classic stealing has gone too far now and things have to change somehow...!!!
What on Earth is going on...?!
This really is sickening as you'd think that if your treasured classic was sitting in a place that was well covered by cameras and in quite a prominent position it'd be safe... WRONG!!!
I hope (as much as we all do) that this car gets found and the horrible beasts that took it get the legal justice/public beating they truly deserve...!!!

Much of this classic car stealing is organised with a proper motive. The amount of Fords, Land Rovers and the like that have been lifted off of the face of the Earth cannot be a coincidence. I wouldn't be surprised if they are being shipped out of the country. Question is where?

Looks like the same green defender that is in the stolen section......
Hope these people get caught and actually punished physically.. because the justice system will slap em on the wrist and give em a £125 fine.
Hope it gets found soon.
