An original and rare Austin A30 van has been stolen from enthusiast Colin Dolding. He tells us: "OFK 316 Westminster green, brown Seat, passenger one never fitted. Stolen on Sunday afternoon/early evening. 1 March, from my home near Welland. Van was taxed and in use, although battery not in situ. Van was locked and keys still here. No glass broken. Totally original, never been welded, paintwork oxidized, only dent was in nsr wing. Has glass Lucas electric washer system and driver door drilled for door mirror. Inside rear door hand-painted a green closer to spruce.
Van a bit tatty around the bottom but OK. 26500-ish miles from new, first reg Aug 1956." So, if you see the van, are offered an A30 or A35 van (it could be disguised) or parts and have the slightest doubt about the seller, call the police. Ted theEd
