Shared this on facebook this morning, getting utterly ridiculous now... I will tell you what is utterly ridiculous, its the proportion of these missing cars that have been taken without huge effort. Not one single owner would leave Ten Grand sitting on a pallet in a garage that's locked with a standard set up but will leave £10,000 worth of Ford in one. I'm not suggesting for one second that this one has been lifted too easily but these cars are hugely expensive yet the security employed to protect them/make them difficult to take without considerable effort is missing in way too many. The end result is that, not only are some of these cars disappearing for good, its going to have a knock on effect on everybody elses insurance premiums.
These have to be going abroad, I cannot see how so many can be returned back to the road here and not get found out.

Hi, You're right zeb. Incidently is there a market abroad for these given they are right hand drive I would have said they could be broken for parts.

Was seen being driven through Tinsley at 6:49 yesterday evening, 2 lads wearing baseball caps were in it.
Police checked their cameras & confirmed the sighting

If someone's out to nick your car, they'll have it. I'd be very surprised if it was opportunistic.

Have a quick check on the Land Rover forums in case they've dumped it on one of the lanes out that way after rallying it round

If someone's out to nick your car, they'll have it. I'd be very surprised if it was opportunistic. However, if you have a decent quality Cat1 Alarm/Immobiliser fitted, and don't plaster the car in "PROTECTED BY TOAD/CLIFFORD/YOUR MUM" stickers, you'll make life a lot harder for them. They won't know it's got one for a start, they won't know what it is to try and bypass it. All the while it will be making a lot of noise.

Unfortunately noise doesn't always help - as happened locally with a caravan when the owner went out to confront the thieves they just said what are you going to do about it? theres more of us than you and we know where you live, now f off we're taking it.

Hope it gets found, sounds like thieving joyriders rather than thieving ringers

Ffs, these oxygen thieves need stringing up by their remaining teeth and left there for the general public to throw random objects at for a sustained period of time. The owner must be gutted to see it like it is now.

Hi, It's good that the car has been found. But it shows how quickly they work, the car has been stolen, stripped and the shell possibly partly dismantled. It has then been sold and some one has then started to build it back up again. All inside 10 days.

There is a Fundme page where the owner is asking for donations to help rebuild as the car was not insured.
Even a 'laid up' Classic car policy would be cheap considering these cars are theft attractive.
Seems not spending a few quid a year on insurance has cost him an awful lot more.
It is a shame and I do feel sorry for him Hopefully everyone else will make sure that cars and even parts that they think are ok tucked away in a lock up somewhere are insured.
