i struggle to have sympathy for anyone stupid enough to own what looks to be a fairly tidy, quite modified rs2000 and doesnt pay less than £100 a year for layup insurance as a bare minimum.
if you own such a car you know full well what its worth, how desirable it is, and also how easy 70s car are to nick.

It's great that this car has been found but goodness me what a state it is in...!!!
It does go to show that your car needs to be insured whether it's used or stored or you will end up in a bit of a pickle...!!!
I just hope the owner can find the enthusiasm to get this car built back up to the standard that it was before it was so horribly snatched...!

There is a Fundme page where the owner is asking for donations to help rebuild as the car was not insured. Hearing this makes interesting reading. However, I still stand by my original comments; the dregs of society need flushing out and permanently removing, much like bacteria in a toilet. The bit I don't get is the whole 'fund me' thing - I've seen this cropping up more and more on FakeFace and the like. Yes I understand it's a useful tool for genuine projects, such as walking from John O'Groats to Lands End to raise money for charity. But for personal gain? I saw one a couple of days back where a lad was asking people for money to help rebuild the TDI lump in his 2008 Passat. As with this mk2 Escort, is it not a digital form of begging, in order to make a valuable asset more valuable again?
