Just acquired a Fiamm Compact Horn made in Italy indeed sourced recently in Milan. Name on horn is Compact Type Mercury igm0683ka < pneumatic > Horn as in an alloy casting that as an air tube attached no electrical connections at all. An Italian work of art for sure. I need an air horn compressor to operate it. Seen several on ebay very reasonable or even cheap air horn set and use the compressor providing 12 volt. Original Fiamm air horn compressors seem to be in USA at unreasonable prices quoting fitment on sports cars like lancia and ferrari maybe to bump up price ? Much google and reading specialist horn dealer pages as produced nothing. Assuming the Fiamm will work ok from air horn compressor but wondered if anyone as one fitted or as picture of compressor ? Thanks in advance Have got three pictures but cant upload them.

Air horns are pretty easy to hook up, just get the matching compressor. I installed multi-tone air horns on my old WB Holden ute. The compressors for the musical air horns have the valving built into them to play a tune, so if you don't want that, make sure you get a 'regular' compressor. They don't need a tank or anything, just plumb straight to the horn with a hose. The one I had was this one: They were quite cheap, just bought them brand new at a car parts shop.

Back in the 80s I think Fiamm (sp?) were the only ones we could buy in Halfords.....

those were the days before rip off speed got their feet under the counter Other way round, Halfords bought the RipSpeed name which was previously a reputable tuning company.

I remember drooling over all the Ripspeed and Larkspeed ads in CCC back in the day. I had a Nova SR for a while so the Peter Maiden Components ads were a favourite too. Happy days............

At risk of a thread hijack, here's a picture for those of you who are loving the bull bar! It's only an aluminium one, some blokes run a steel five-poster! With a 14" steering wheel and no power steering, this one was heavy enough for me.

Sourced a Stebel old school 12volt compressor to run the fiamm At least all the parts might last longer secondhand than the new chinese junk being hawked about on fleabay.
