Feels a little as if the days of the 15" tyre are over.... Been looking on the web, obviously but keep coming up with 4 x 4 tyres so... Any pointers to who makes and where I can get 225/60/15 and 275/55/15 tyres? Looking for a good summer tyre, with grip rather than a rock hard cheapo that will do 50,000 miles. Over too you. P.

225/60/15 lots of choice - Conti, Toyo and Vredestein all make them - I'd go for the Vredestein Sportrac 5
275/55/15 In Europe that would have been OE on 70s and 80s supercars so megabucks from somewhere like Longstone classic. I wonder if you'd be better sourcing some from the US and getting them shipped over? The only other thing I came up with was whether a motorsport supplier could get some (road legal) classic race tyres to suit?

Choice is limited as you rightly point out. Been looking at Hosier DOT radials, come in a 275/50/15 and at a not un reasonable £220, well compared the the £350+ wanted for P7 or Avons of a similar size. Could go for BFG's but they are shocking when it comes to grip in the dry let alone the wet! Thanks for the reply. P.
