So the trailers are out, I try not to watch trailers as they seem to show the best parts of the films and I like an open mind when watching films, (I don't read the back of books or DVDs either) anyway The first one came out in 2001 when I was 15 or so and I must say I loved it, it may have influenced my taste in music and cars slightly - I was prob going that way anyway but the movie accelerated the process; Noisy cars, big sound systems, car park meets and such like.
Anyhoo I feel that the franchise has moved away from street racing and modded cars over the years to nothing more than a Hollywood blockbusters, its a shame but that's how it goes, I still watch and enjoy them (apart from Tokyo drift lol) and was wondering other people's thoughts on the film and if they will go to the cinema for it? There's obviously the big factor about Paul walker tragically dying before filming finished that sucks, will this be the last?
I was determined to paint my mx6 green like the supra in the early film and put a big wing and stickers on, thankfully I didn't lol

Not realy into it but would watch if I had nothing else better to do, Tokyo drift was rubbish imo way to my computer graphics for my liking.
How much of the new film (if any) is Paul walker in? Or was the script re written?

His brother helped finish the filming - they were too far into it to scrap what they had. As far as I can remember. Tokyo drift was poor, I think dwayne Johnson was a good addition the recent films I like him, not in the scorpion though that was weak

I saw a trailer with a car jumping between skyscrapers... I'm out.
First one was entertaining enough, probably the only one I've seen all the way through.

I'd already completed puberty by the time FF kicked off so I wasn't really the target market. They're all pretty dreadful by any standard of film making. Just came here to say F-BOMB! I believe this was in one of the films for about 10 seconds. Sick car.

Green Supra? The Supra was orange. The Eclipse was green I was part of the scene when it hit the big screen and was well in to the lairy paint, big audio and attention seeking. The first for me was a big mile stone and since then always wanted an RX7 with the Veilside kit. Unfortunately the franchise to me has gone just that bit to Hollywood and after the last one where they had a chance to drag me in with it being UK based but it just didn't give me that just can't wait.

They're all pretty dreadful by any standard of film making. I don't think anyone is saying that they're standout examples of mankind's cinematic oeuvre... But let's have a look at your statement anyway. "They're all pretty dreadful by any standard of film making." Well, the standards of film making are in the presentation of the film; does the film meet the guidelines for the format that it is presented in? Absolutely, from the first in the series to the most recent - and I'd wager the new film also - the films have all met or exceeded the technical guidelines and standards for the formats in which they have been presented in. Are they cinematic masterpieces to be held up alongside the best of Gilliam, Aronofsky, Hitchcock, Kubrik, Welles, Polanski, Scorsese, Lynch, Lang et cetera? No, and if this is your only argument then you don't really have an argument at all. Are they entertaining? Absolutely, yes. Except maybe the second one. It's a chance to switch off for two hours, and watch some cars go broom broom, some explosions, a bit of action, some cheesy lines and wooden-ish acting. "Butbutbutbutbut it's not the greatest film ever made!" Yeah? So fuc king what? *n

Are they entertaining? Absolutely, yes. So is Eastenders, Power Rangers, Match of the Day, The Archers, Homes under the Hammer, X-Factor. Depends who's watching doesn't it? If you like switching your brain off and watching brum-brums doing skids and sweaty male models looking moody that's fine. As I said though, I wasn't a horny teenager locked in a confusing battle with my newly burgeoning sexuality when it kicked off so I wasn't into it. I'm not arguing. This is RR where everyone is right.

I have little interest in the film, but I saw hot rod mag post this up earlier - an off-road charger. I am interested in that...

will hopefully get to go and see it once the cinema isnt so busy, sad however that paul walker passed away, always find it a bit strange watching a film when the actor or actress is no longer alive.
