Anybody on here ever built one? I've got loads of random 60s bsa bike bits lying around and wouldn't mind building one. How easy is it to modify bike frames without making them ride like curse word? This is the style of bobber it'd be but not as well finished, and with short straight bars rather than the hangers. Matt

They handle fine as long as you don't lay the forks back too far. I learned this chopping up pushbikes but the principle is the same with motorbikes. Get the castor angle right and you won't go far wrong. If you hardtail it some people say run a higher profile back tyre with not too much air in it. Personally I don't think it's going to bother me too much if the back wheel skips about a bit, it's more of a problem when the front one does it. Oh and don't think you can get away with just a back brake

get your rake and trail right and it'll be pretty good. long forks or over-raked front ends don't lend themselves to nippy handling or tight turning circles. but its the looks, man! www.britchopper.co.uk/forum/ is a great custom bike place, I will be posting there again when the car building is over. phatford from here posts as cafe_tom, a mine of info oh, and robbie from BC has finally got his supercharged cb750 to run- ;D also you could try www.chopperbuilder.co.uk/portal.php but it can get very clicky in there.

evening all. just my 2p, what you got at the top there old boy is a chop the orange trump is closer to being a bobber. There's a whole host of things you could with your bantam bits...have you thought of something along the lines of a flat tracker? Just started building one myself as it goes You'll save your kidneys and be able to get away with glitzy paint and snazzy lines. bodieanddoyle, hows the dream coming? any progress? this happened to me on sunday... courtesy of a car turning right...

I'd love to do something like this myself man, although Irish roads are not designed for motorbikes of any description let alone hardtails!! For inspiration look at the best magazine ever made www.dicemagazine.com

flat-track & bobber style is the so called coolest in my view! there was a "Ural" bobber on egay! really nice it was! i'd love to build a lil bsa bobber or something around those lines! i've recently sold my motorbike but the next bike i get will be a bobber or flat-tracker style, something that needs a little work hehe lol i went to the nostalgia nationals last year & there was a bsa bobber, leaking oi where it was paked in typical 60's bike style, cooler than cool

Will get pics of parts after the weekend. I'm using the front of the frame and engine from a bsa barracuda, custom hardtail, 21" and 16" wheels and got a few little detail bits I wanna try out. Not sure what forks i'm using yet springers cost loads.

I'm a fan of girders. When I get round to building my TR1 chop its gonna run girders. Brit forks with the outer sleeves look fapping lovely; nice and clean and when polished up look spot on. Be good to see it.
