Used to have several hundred slot cars but sold most of them to help pay for a garage build. Kept a couple of the 'sentimental value' ones. Also got a few Rootes models, stuff from the UFO TV series and some classic motorbikes. Can't post pics at the moment as I'm at work.

If it wasn't for 60's and 70's Corgi/Dinky/Matchbox toys I'd never have the garage of my dreams...!!!

I am sure I speak for a lot of us when I say that model cars helped whet our appetites for the real thing...

As a child I played with Lego and Corgi cars and I still do! I have an extensive collection of Lego with a number of built cars on display. Plus a collection of Corgi/Dinky card, 1:43 die-casts, a small Scaletrix collection and prompted by the thread in Readers Other Modifications a collection of Hot wheels....

Mine, boringly, is limited to Rotaries. I'd love to collect more but I know it'd end up in a space war with the waff (not the kind of space war with laser cannon and X-wings, sadly) so I content myself with one cabinets-worth.



Perhaps not surprisingly my one and only AutoArt item is the CROWNing glory. I used to build models endlessly as a kid (and kidult, lol) so I appreciate this not just for what it represents ... the only Japanese car and the only non-reciprocating engine ever to win Le Mans... but also the sheer craft that's gone into making it. I've seen the real thing and this is 1:18th as good!





Other than that, I've got lots of Hot Wheels/Matchbox-sized FBs cos I've never had the spare hundred quid for an AutoArt 1:18th scale one of those









and lots of FDs in various levels of tastelessness

Pictures tomorrow, nothing as cool as these but I'm trying to get a 1:43 model of every car I've owned. Sera was surprisingly easy, Chevette (4dr saloon) is proving infuriating!

I'm doing that as well, not as easy as it sounds with some of the more mundane cars, looking for a decent Citroen BX 16v* and Xantia. Don't think I'll get a Cortins MKIV Estate though. I've ended up compromising with a few e.g. I had a 5 door SAAB 900 model is a 3 door, and I've given up trying to match colours.

* you can get a BX Sport but it's expensive and not normally available in this country.

I've got around 20,
1:18 scale bburagos.

A merc artic with vimto livery I was given from a promotional bottle.

Back in the early 90's I collected the cars from the shell garages

I have 3 or 4 sets from the different years they came out.
still in there boxes.

Supercars & sportscars the same as these.

I think there were 8,10 or 12 in the collection
1 in the next size up & 1 I had to send off for that was 1:18 scale think that one was made by maisto.

I got the Ferrari collection from last year also the lego collection (shell) again.

An old beetle possibly split rear screen (been a while since I looked at it)
