The Viva was sat all on it's own, the wheels made me wander over and then I realised why the bonnet was up ! The owner wasn't around so I couldn't ask about it.
Yes it is Popham airfield, I just added it to the title. They have a light aircraft weekend and on the bank holiday Monday a classic car show.

Yep I was there with my Spitfire. Which one was yours ? I got dragged round by a small boy who wanted to look for Hot wheels cars so didn't get much time to look at anything for long ! |

Hi Rob and Steve.
I have a green '79 Spitty 1500, very tatty looking with BP logo on the bonnet and bot and roundals on the door.it was parked with a few Dolomites.
If I can find a pic I will post it.
I have mostly Dolomites and Triumph 1300s, I obtained the Spit as it was on its was to be scrapped.

There looks to be plenty of tasty metal down at that show! It is possibly one for me to earmark! I am attempting to attend such shows these days.

It was pretty well attended this year and all the spaces were booked up the week before. Thats the only trouble with shows like this they get good and grow too big like Wheels day.
They had a Hot Rod day earlier in the year which I missed and there is a Volvo owners club meet there later this month. Not everything gets posted on their events page unfortunately.
There is also the Wyke farm car show in the area but this was cancelled. It's possible it might take place later in the year as the organisers are looking for an alternative venue.

I will be going along again this year. Still haven't got anything suitable thats roadworthy at the moment but there is plenty to look at and all the autojumble stalls to get bargains from.
