Hello, Apologies for the interruption in service, should be back on track now. Rather than wait until the end of this week I figured I'd do a retrospective as bank holiday weekends are always full of goodness For my part, took the Datsun out a few times, there was a coolant leak at the beginning of the weekend which I think I've fixed. Although I think I may have a very slight misfire now. Check out the video I added to the build thread retrorides.proboards.com/thread/40513?page=8 thoughts gratefully received. Other than that I spent a bit of time looking at event calendars with my Dad to see what events we could get to this year, think we'll be heading to Gurston for something (I didn't realise how close it was to me!). I've got a bunch of phone calls and updating to do this week for show stuff. Also need to start organising the Retro Rides stand at Retro Kings! (deadline is 22nd May). So what did you get up to?

Skim pickings at Sunday's Krispy Kreme, Trafford Park meet. To be fair, given how mucky the start of the morning was I wouldn't have been surprised if nobody turned out. Fingers crossed that June is back to the usual full house.

Mainly......... I made this driveway tool for outside use. Some bits found, some donated and some purchased, the most expensive by memory was £3.00 for the Lion no2 vice. The pipe vice was 50p at a bootfair last year, and the little vice found at the tip. The small anvil made of a bit of mini railway line. There is also a larger bit of rail line for hammering on. Truck brake drum was donated free by a local truck service station and the piece of RSJ found by friend Woodsie in a skip. Weighing in at 100kg or about 15 stone 8 or thereabouts in English, it should reduce the amount of splatter and dust made when cutting and grinding indoors. Full thread here: retrorides.proboards.com/thread/178364/kiwikevs-driveway-station-replica-finishedI guess I have now run out of excuses with the truck, and need to be getting back to messing with it, and getting some rust etc sorted.

Painted some dinosaurs in bright colours, and some glittered some others (and no, there are no kids involved in the reasons for this!) Replaced some glass on the green house Ate/drank too much (got a year older) Bought a huge compressor Actually went somewhere in the Mk2 Capri! All in an enjoyable, if occasionally odd, weekend

Watched the WEC from Spa all afternoon on Saturday and on Monday went to the Donington Historic Festival in the Minor. It was very good and the weather was fine I'll post some photos when I get round to it

Donington is another one to add to my list of this years events I knew was happening but life got in the way of. Only car related activity over the long weekend was a few hours spent putting an engine in my car.

VIP that's amazing! I watched the WEC on TV and then bodged up some oil cooler mounts and fixed a leaky rad on a Mazda RX4 and put the ATL fuel cell back in my P510. Still getting over a serious case of man flu and my lungs are f**ked so the bikes stayed in the warm and dry.

Is that on air bags or did you simply not lower it enough/at all?
