As it says above, has any got any ideas how I identify what windscreens I've got amongst the 15 or more in my shed. I got them last year as part of a job lot and so far I can only identify a Morris Minor, Morris 8 and a Morris 12 or 14 rear screen. There are some oddball shaped ones, ones with full 90degree wrap round on the ends, 6mm thick ones and many more. But there are no manufacturers numbers on them and I can't find a data book to get any dimensions from to help. So does anyone know where I can find any info, or I'd be happy to sell them to a classic windscreen fitter who might be able to do something with them. They've been kept safe for the last 50 years I'd hate to have to stick a hammer into them and sling them in a skip. Any help appreciated. Cheers (I could take photos and do a daily competition - just for Q-dos, I'm not Ernie you know!)

OK I've been and took a few pictures, these are the first seven screens, I have no idea if they are front or rear, but I did find a marking on one of them. Which I've used to narrow it down to the year of manufacture of 1950, 60 or 70. Helps a lot I know!0 From the rest of the parts that I got with all these screens I'm guessing that most will come from English cars, I've got parts from 50s, 60s and 70s BMC (mainly Morris), Vauxhall and Ford. Photo 1 - 6 of the seven showing variation in size. The first one. The second one Number 3 Number 4 Number 5 Number 6 And number 7 - which is etched Triplex toughened AS2, with a dot over the T of triplex indicating 1st quarter and no other dots indicating year of manufacture as either 1950, 60 or 70 Another of screen 7 showing just how curved it is. I'm thinking PA Cresta proportions.

That wrap around one could be Hillman Minx No. 3 could be A60. You really need to put a tape measure across and top to bottom so there's at least some sense of scale.

Cheers Seth. The Minx looks promising, I'll get some dimensions off them tomorrow morning, as I was taking the pics I thought I need to measure these really.

Hi, the first one with the degree of wraparound could be either P5/P5b coupe front or rear screen or 'F' type Vauxhall Victor depending on size, possibly even Humber.

Number 2 - Top outside - 48.5" Top direct - 46.5" Bottom outside - 56" Bottom direct - 51.5" Height - 21.5"
Number 3 - Top outside - 50" Top direct - 47.5" Bottom outside - 56" Bottom direct - 53" Height - 16.5"
Number 4 - Top outside - 45.5" Top direct - 45" Bottome outside - 48.5" Bottom direct - 48" Height - 16.5"
Number 5 - Top outside - 39.5" Top direct - 38.5" Bottom outside - 41.5" Bottom direct - 40.5" Height - 15.5"
Number 6 - Top outside - 43" Top direct - 42.5" Bottom outside - 45.5" Bottom direct - 45" Height - 16.5"

Hi, Or you could go to the show yourself. Then you might be able to sell the screens to the people who have the cars they actually fit.

That's the plan. But a many pronged attack could give more results. Plus I'll pay commission of 25% of sale price to anyone who can flog one. Any takers?
