Well what a lovely weekend weather wise that was. I headed up to Japfest in the Datsun, which was a great day out, lots to see, spoke to a few people, saw some cool cars, took some photographs (which will be on Flickr later today hopefully), had a nice drive home pursing (and keeping up with for the most part) a rude looking Mazda RX7 (even with the misfire I've got a the moment, Rolling Road day needed for a tune up I think). Sunday I headed to London to pick up my wife from her weekend away and grab some tools and work out what I've got in The Dungeon that I can move into my garage and what I need to sell off. I realised as the rollers went up I'd left my keys for the secondary lock at home ... but no worries there are ALWAYS people in the workshop. ... except yesterday, we waited around for 10 minutes, then headed home, dejected. On the way down the M3 we saw the lovely Seth heading in the opposite direction in the lovely Hunter. Hope the horrific looking traffic jam didn't take too long to get through,.. I was about to attempt calling to warn, but realised you were between junctions and I was driving a car on the motorway so phone use was a no no. So... what car stuff did you get up to?

I live 4 miles from junction 4 of the M3 so I feel Seth's pain. It's always like that around J4-3.
I currently have 'Manflu' so all the car related stuff I did was internet based.
1 Research how to get my S210 into the weeds. 2 Check the RR of my Dad's S210 wheels to make sure they will fit mine easily 3 Rest of the weekend was spent watching Motorsport from settee. MotoGp, RallyX

Finished this and made up the new battery mounts. Saturday evening I went kroozin in Barnsley, last night I called in at a local krooze in memory of a local lad who sadly died from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Spotted!
I'd been down to Beaulieu for the Spring Autojumble where I rummaged through piles of chod, bought some tat and had a good chat with RatDat. Signs when I joined the M27 were saying 'Long Delays' on the M3 from J4 and I'd got bored at the length of the 50 limit on the way down anyway so I snuck off at Basingstoke and took the A33 up to the M4. Only got stuck in 'Congestion' up to the M25 there. But did get to watch a late Honda NSX making good progress through the traffic. Oh, and then apparently there'd been some football at Wembley...

Had a love/hate relationship with a saab I have for about a couple of years now - It was the car stuck in the garden (will get round to it eventually) - Eventually happened, then spent 4 months / 3 hrs per day testing every facet of the bosch injection system only to find an incredibly rare fault of the ecu not priming the fuel pump. Fixed that, then recently after getting the car ready to sell, the damn head gasket went 3 mins after leaving home one day. Instant choc milkshake. Tried 8 different garages to do the gasket for me, every single one of them refused. put on ebay as spares or repair, thought I got 500 quid for it but ebay had a huge amount of pond life that week and got mucked around by a guy who wanted me to purchase a tow bar so he could pick it up..... Never selling a car on the bay again - don't want to go down for murder! Bit the bullet and bought an engine crane, head gasket, torque wrench, outdoor light, pagoda (waterproof) and other various bits and yesterday did the job myself. I haven't felt this proud since my first vw beetle engine swap - was nowhere as difficult as I thought, although need to use a chain splitter next time as it would make doing the timing far easier. and after a fine days work playing on cars, the most odd roadsign ever to appear in Medway - Glad there is someone else out there with my sense of humour .... Should hopefully be attempting the first run of the car since my head gasket repair this evening .... fingers crossed!

Went and collected my new project car from Torbay. Nice bit of kit, though it is a bit modern for these parts. Still, weekend car stuff, so whoop! Chris

Measured out the size for my new garage (exciting times). Also we started on a 1.6 to 1.8 MX5 conversion.....should have been easy if the loom hadn't been cut.

Forgot to mention a great episode of 'for the love of cars' and got this present from someone for fixing their computer - far better than cash!

Blew the cobwebs off the 318is and took it out for it's first run this year. Performed perfectly.

I was finishing off my holiday over the weekend so no work on the cars for me, though I did spend many hours on ebay, facebook and gumtree looking for some new wheels for the Saab
