aftermarket DAB radio in a retro?

Finally got my latest audio bits wired up in the 924, old(ish) grundig radio cassette with cd changer and DAB receiver. Got it all wired up great and all works fine on the drive, even the hidden wireless Ipod install, so a happy chappy. Now to the problem ..the Digital radio reception is hit and miss to say the least when on the move, although it is great stationary outside the house....I do live on Anglesey so a bit out in the sticks would this be the issue or an aerial problem?

What sort of aerial have you got? Is it the stick on glass type?

Unfortunately it may just be down to DAB coverage being a bit patchy in general. I recently fitted a DAB unit to my Saab and I've found some stations have great signal most of the time, whereas some come and go, especially if driving from region to region. My parents have a pretty new BMW 3 Series with factory fitted DAB and even that struggles fairly often with reception

DAB ideally needs an external aerial. I use a Pure Highway DAB receiver (highly recommended BTW) in my work van and the signal was patchy with the screen mounted aerial it was supplied with, now using a roof mounted aerial and signal loss is rare unless in remote areas or surrounded by tall buildings.
