Friend of mine has a Hillman minx had one owner from new, 80 year old chap. standard engine etc but lowered and on very cool alleycat wheels.
needs a general tidy up but on the road, drives well, not sure if he is going to mx5 it drive train wise but if enough interest and not idle chit chat i will get some pics up ?

Hi I got a gls with front end damage it cost me a pretty penny.so I think getting a cheap one is a bit of a long shot.there was a gl on eBay that was well past its sell by date the guy was asking £1000 for it.

Your best bet instead of bumping this once a week is joining the owners club where you might be able to find something for a reasonable price - otherwise its get much deeper pockets .

No such thing as cheap retro cars any more. A resto Vx/490 sold for over £1400 on ebay.

No such thing as cheap retro cars any more. A resto Vx/490 sold for over £1400 on ebay. There are still plenty of cheap retro cars about, you just need to look away from the beaten track. People are lazy these days, if they want a car they look on ebay and for a lot of people the search stops there. I know people who have paid well over the odds for junk just because it's on ebay. I could of bagged a vx/490 the other month for £500 but had no use for it. Me and a mate recently paid £850 between us for a mk1 chrome bumper fiesta, a mk4 xr3i and a imp, we got the majority of that back selling the imp on ebay. Cheap retro cars are still about, they just take a little more searching for and a little bit of luck |
