I am clearing out a few spares as of this moment.
The first are a pair of Wilwood brake calipers. These are in great condition and will take a 283mm disc. They have Hawk pads in as of the moment which are in good condition but half worn. Also included in the cost are adaptors for them to fit a Mk3 Escort ; they should fit other Fords as well I should have thought but of course it does pay to check .
£175ono will take these .
The second is a pair of Ford Mondeo MK3 front calipers. These can be quite effective in improving the stopping power of many Fords out there (Escort and Fiesta) when used in combination with 300mm Focus ST170 brake discs. These will fit a 16" wheel but the calipers may need grinding a touch for the 15" wheels. As far as I can tell this is meant to be one of the best setups to go for on an Escort bang per buck and when compared to other options. If my Cosworth setup is anything to go by I can see why this is the case.
£35ono shall secure these.
Pics shall arrive soon . These are now sold

This depends. If the bolt holes fit without the adaptor (i.e via the lug mounts on the caliper) I would say there is a good chance they will. What car are they for? I can give Wilwood a ring to see if they can do the job . On the adaptors I doubt they would with them required a 283mm disc.

curse word, I'd forgotten you mentioned these to me. What's the standard mounting pattern ChasR? Are these the Midilite or Minilite calipers? My discs are 245mm dia

I shall double check but it seems the figure between the centre of the stock Wilwood lug mounts is 5.25". I shall have to measure up what the Ford ones are on the adaptors. barty I doubt they will fit under 13" wheels if you have a Mk2 Fiesta. This is assuming that it shares the same lug pattern as a Mk3 Escort and many other Fords (Mondeos, later Fiestas etc.).

ChasR is it the calipers that are Ford fitment, or the Calipers? IIRC, the Ford used the 16M type caliper which was a metric version of the 16P as used on the Triumphs

MrSpeedy The adaptors are Ford fitment . Here are the measurements . The adaptors are a normal Ford bolt holes with 91mm spacing The lugs on the Wilwood calipers (and adaptors) are 134.5mm. I can bring either sets of calipers to RRG for the buyer.

for vented discs? you reckon the spacers can be removed and the 2 halves bolted up? thinking about the covin front stoppers which are standard beetle non-vented discs under 15" rims

I'll look into that but I cannot see a reason why they cannot be removed. They normally add the spacers in for Princess caliper conversions don't they? MMM wonder if these would fit my ford pop which has the same mounting pattern as the upgrade calipers that escorts etc fit ..got 15" hillman minx wheels too I hope these fit coz the calipers i have on now feel like bicycle brakes .. Where in the country are you? You can see whether they would clear or not. I know that these required 5mm spacers to clear my Series 1 RS Turbo wheels but they are known for being a wheel with very little clearance and maybe it was a reason for why the S1 RSTs came with 240mm brakes (I wish I was joking there!). On the Series 2 wheels they would not present a problem or the vast majority of 15" wheels. I reckon with steels they would clear fine ; the casting on those S1 wheels is a little big!

I am in carlisle .i don't have problems with calipers hitting the wheel on my pop the problem i have is not enough space for the caliper by the hub .the pop has a bit of a mismatch of parts from a few different manufacturers so a bit of a pain when trying to find parts and 175 quid is a fair bit to spend just to find out they don't fit ...

Bump for the Mondeo calipers . If needs be I can throw in a pair of discs and pads on top of the asking price depending on the car (I'd have thought it would be around £70ish more on top for Focus ST170 discs and Mondeo pads), but of course postage will go up.
