The temp sender in my engine didn't work. Ended up snapping body of it off trying to get it out. Access is limited and can't get a drill square on so have made a mess using a smaller drill bit and probably ruined the thread and a ring of brass still exists. Can't really get a tap in due to a casting holding alternator. I have plugged hole for now with tiger seal. How can I fill hole permantly and can I mount the sender in a rubber pipe ? Any advice gratefully appreciated.

Get one of the lengths of metal pipe with a 1/8 or 1/4 npt thread and put it in your radiator hose. They're quite popular for adding fan sensors etc so not too expensive

Thanks. Have put some chemical metal in it for now and seems to be holding better than the tiger seal will look at those pipe fittings.
