That and a flat cap on the parcel shelf were my first additions! It's going to be proper grandpa spec.

I have had 309s for ages now they becoming a wanted car, My 309 style is one of the best I have had and I have had goodwoods and gti models Diesel and petrol. You won't get many rust issues as the body's are galvanised . The clutch is adjustable from the clutch pull leaver under bonnet. A simple 10mm and a12/13mm spanner for the lock nut,
As it happens I just put a full valio clutch in mine last weekend,, for the grand sum of £22.49p. Full kit on eBay brand new,, all three parts. Very tidy 309 you have there any mods you make to it keep it to 309 original parts Now join the international 309 owners club Plenty people to help on there

That is a really very solid looking motor, I think you've got something very special there...
Did you know that the 309 was very nearly a Talbot...?!
I look forward to seeing more Grandad friendly additions...!!!

What a great example. There's something very appealing about these. Bit of an underdog next to the more popular 205.

Cheers for the love guys! Adjusted the clutch cable quite a bit tonight, much better. Half to 2/3 up the pedal now. Went for a drive in the country side. Amber says it's hers now. Tucked up in bed. Card board to soak up the oil leak, of course. Careful kids..

I had a very similar car to this a while back. From memory, isn't the engine similar to the clattery OHV unit found in the older Talbot Horizons? I still have the valve clearance adjusting tool for one, haven't used it for over 10 years and probably never will again.

I thought as much, it certainly sounded similar! Well if anyone reading is in need of the adjusting tool, it's theirs for the cost of the postage, no use to me at all.
