what the chuff can I do with a suzuki 80 step thru

due to mylimited budget and needing to get to student nurse placements I needed another mode of transport whilst I do the body work on my caddy.
Joy of joys I will be getting a suzuki 80 step thru ( same as a honda 70 but with 10 more cc) its early 1980s I think and has been in a shed for the last 6 years and its free!
I need some ideas would love a bobber but this steed will have to do for the time being , and I aint going to leave it standard, have never left a car standard so why a bike!
had a look around but didnt find lots of insperation
can you help?

Soz, I have a hatred for these vicious little pizza delivery machines.
I had one, many many years ago. Didin't even have a license for it, let alone appropriate clothing. Think juvenile legs + exhaust pipe. The scars are barely visible now, but my god did that hurt.

First thing to do is get rid of all all the excess metalwork

Seriously (ish) though. A pizza takeaway company used to give their tired bikes to the college I worked at for the trainee mechs to work on. First thing everyone did was bin excess sheet metal while keeping the things street legal. Paint was re-done and anything that could be replaced with aftermarket stuff (lights,exhaust etc.) usually was. Most were themed so mod scooters, choppers (Harley and Raleigh), rallying, racing, BMX were all plundered for ideas.

Favourite were one in fake WW2 German camouflage and a Day-glo yellow creation with yellow Wombleskin seat

yeah some good ideas comming , i struggeld to find any pics on the interweb when I had a looky see.
could throw it in a lake but where is the fun in that hey! was thinking what motors would fit a gsxr1100 would be ace but was thinking a bit smaller!
any one know any custom sites or pictures?
how about a bobbed suzuki 80 with matt paint and one of those "curse word you" rear lights and a slight fork rake with short bars

They don't have forks they have those leading link things like honda cubs.

I think the only real thing you could do is strip it right down of all the plastics and brackets and give it a real pared down look typa thing.

saw it about 2 years ago in a shed and had a drunken look over it and then was told to step away form it by the mrs so have hazy memory of it ,I hand one many years a go and my dad threw it out with out me noticing at that age i took no interest at all.
so that would me a big fat no to handle bars and a rake hmmm, think you may be right , strip it down to bare minimum and see what I can make!
this would be some insperation ! forgot I read the choppers and bobbers thread ( I was drunk at the time) and it was seeping ito my mind with out me realising !

If you don't want to mess with the frame, go with the "pizza delivery boy" theme as much as poss, curse word 80's looking fake pizza delivery stickers on it, over size pizza box on the back, and some insulting stickers on the back ("get off my ass, i know i'm slow, but so is your mom" etc) its the only way. Be true to its purpose!

friend of mine modded a c50 by fitting a c90 engine, ar50 forks and wheels, ditching all the plastics and fitting a DEP motocross silencer. Sounded fantastic and he could ride it too.
Now as you already have an 80cc motor I wouldn't bother touching that. Unless you are really confident in your welding I wouldn't touch the frame by raking the forks etc.. You could try some old fashioned cafe cool and take a leaf out of the scooter boys book; weld in a top tube and fit a small tank from some early 80s 125, knock up or buy (£40) a small manx type seat and fit some ace bars and a small megga silencer. Spray the whole lot in silver and stick a period suzuki 's' on the tank and you're laughing...
