These are not to everyone's taste, but hey..... It makes our hobby more interesting, having variety. These may have been done to death, or not but I am interested in fitting one to my truck. So looking for one to buy. It actually came with a Chevy Caprice type hood ornament fitted originally but I removed it to ensure the "Light fingered brigade" did not end up with it in a shoebox full of other bashes and stolen valve caps. If the Jaguar and Rolls Royce ones were not so special, I would love either but they are not right for my truck. The 55, 56 Chevy car hood ornaments are lovely, see photo below, but at over $100.00 Delivered in the U.S. For a reproduction, which of course translates into the same in Pounds, I want to pass for now. I have seen some nice stuff around at shows, so it's worth asking. I am in two minds as the truck has pretty clean lines, and I am not even remounting the side badges or an aerial for the radio to clean it up a bit more, but will be fitting a spotlight to the A pillar. This is my mate in Arkansas' hood with a 56 ornament. Remember these trucks are fuckoff huge. Some others..... Randomly. And an oldie.

Grizz, Just wait a few seconds whilst I go and dust off my Anorak... The Hood Bird is a 56 not a 55. Common mistake, the 55 has a longer tail section! Worth remembering if you want that exact same style. P.

Somewhere, if I haven't lost it, I had a book all about hood ornaments, including some amazing art deco glass ones, but only 2 really come to mind, the cross hair sight on my fathers mk4 zephyr, and a news story about Diana and Fergie having frog ornaments, as you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince Ttfn Glenn

No Marmite from me, I love a good hood ornament. I just haven't seen anything that would suit the big slab of bonnet on a '38. At least we're still allowed to skewer pedestrians on them here This would suit yours, Grizz... Now that, I like!
