So I never manage to pull my finger out get many shots at RRG, but this year I did worse than ever, with zero! (I blame the weather, but really I'm too absorbed in looking at cars to remember to take a photo!). As such, and with the weather having caused few photos from everyone it seems, I thought a couple of photo threads might be welcomed
First up, 21ème Jacquemarde, 2015. Believe it of not this was a completely accidental find. Me and Lauren were on our honeymoon, driving around France/Switzerland/Italy, and on our way up the French Alps, just driving into Taninges, were suddenly surrounded by classics - obviously we had to stop and see what was going on!
Now I'll admit I've never been a massive French car fan, but after this little collection I've decided that might just be due to a lack of exposure. Put it this way, a week later I was bidding on a Peugeot 204 coupe, that I neither had space for, time for or in deed a need for, but goodness did I want it (I still do) - think how good one would be with a 107/C1/Aygo 3 cylinder engine in it - ~60mpg and awesome classic looks, would be my perfect commuting car.
Enough talk, photo time!
Home side first
A range of, oh my god I want those, wheels. I mean Gotti wheels are just great, aren't they? They should be fitted to way more than French cars - anyone ever seen them on something elese, like a VW or something?
And the rest - there really was a great range of cars there, something for everyone - even a Jowett!
There were so many cars that I'd have wanted to carry the journey on in, but I think for shear fun, and cool points, I'd probably have gone with one of the race tuned Renault 8's, just love the look of them. Not sure that's something I ever thought I'd say when there were Mustangs, an RS2000 and other renowned great cars to choose from, maybe I was a bit over exposed, lol.
