Hi all I've got a little CB125S 1973. Looking to change the rear wheel for an 18" (to allow more tire choice and aesthetics) wondering if a CG125 rear wheel would fit? While I'm at it, a CG front wheel with a disc to upgrade the terrible front drum brake?! Many thanks

Disc front brake will probably involve changing fork leg as well to get calliper locating lugs. By the time you have bought and swopped over the bits you might as well have bought a CG to modify in the first place as CB125S are getting rare / sort after to restore to original spec / condition so modifying that will probably DECREASE it's value !

CG wheel would be a straight swap, but as above, it would be a real shame! '73 is pretty damn early for a CB125, and they're rare as it is.

Thank you for the replies, appreciate your experience. The little CB is in ok running condition, needs either resorting to original or modifying. Any and all modifying work would be completely reversible. The CG wheels (and forks) would just allow for better tire choice and brakes. Still might sell instead and get.a CG or later CB to play with, just not sure what it is worth. I guess one of the other tweaks some people may do is a 12v conversion, would you recommend or have any links to how to do this? Cheers Simon

Why do you want a 12v electrical system ? 35 watt headlight is the same light output whether 6 or 12 volts so the only gain is bulbs easier to buy. You can get 6v halogen bulbs which are a simple way of increasing brightness. Side, tail, stop and indicators can all be replaced with 6v LED items. The CB125S, even needing restoration, is desirable and you shouldn't have much problem finding somebody who will do a straight swop for a later CG in road worthy condition that is ready to ride. If you want something slightly different then what about a CB100N ? I always wanted a XL100 version
