Hi Guys
I`ve got a Mk1 Berlingo Multispace with a 306Gti 2.0 16v conversion running 205/40/17 tyres,
Has anyone got an idea of what tyre pressures I should run?

whatever the sticker on the door says would be where I would start. (well specifically personally I'd run 15"s )

whatever the sticker on the door says would be where I would start. (well specifically personally I'd run 15"s ) ^^WHS^^ I've pretty much always run the OE tyre pressures regardless of whether the wheel/tyre combo is not stock...maybe a little bit of fine tuning but always a good ballpark

I just do everything to 30! On some cars that can make the handling interesting . My Escort was terrible with 30PSi with the NS-2Rs. I have gone to 23PSi in them and the difference in grip was a revelation ; OK I would have gone to 28PSi with road tyres. It was the same story with my sister's Mondeo 2.5T ; that was beginning to wear the outside of the tyres out. A friend's Clio 172 which a very wayward rear was tamed by simply changing the tyre pressures from 30 all round to that but 33 up front, where many were saying his corner weights were out of spec etc. Anyway. As a rough rule of thumb I would use the factory figures and go up a few PSI with the increased rim size and move from there, be it going back to stock or somewhere between the two ; it's how the pressures seem to change on cars where the rim diameter increases IME. With the Stag that seemed to work. OK the rear end did used to sometimes slide out in the wet but the tyres were also 10 years old! Berlingo GTi-6? Show us more!

Sounds interesting. Loved my gti6. Have you got the box in there as well? Cracking to drive with that close ish ratio box. Capable engine.

Very smart. Think they are pretty much the same internal front end wise. I had the tougher metal belingo drop links on my 306. It's About the only car I've had that I actually miss and the only one I kept for any decent length of time. Has your inherited the horrific lack of full lock the 306s suffer from with the long gear box?

I run 40 psi in the 205/70/15s on my Ford EA Falcon wagon and 30 psi in the 155/80/12s on my Wolseley 1300. In both cases way more than the book says but both cars behave better in general use this way. I think I put 24 psi in the 6.00x12 farm service lug tyres on the front of my EN1 Civic and 30 psi in the 155/80/13s on the back but that's probably not applicable to your situation. My wife's Ford BG Laser gets 30 psi all around in its 165/13s but I forget what profile they are. I think they are a 70 profile.

Hi As far as I know it was built by an aircraft/helicopter engineer in Weston Super Mare, He did a great job the only thing that doesn't work is the rev counter on the original Berlingo dash Its a multispace with a full length electric canvas sunroof in silver Cheers Adrian

Hi The only difference is the Berlingo strut tops are slightly closer together so with the 306 struts fitted gives the front wheels a healthy dose of negative camber, As for the steering there is no such thing as a 3 point turn in my van it takes about 5! the balljoints on the berlingo must be shorter than the 306, as I know the wishbones are the same, my zx has the short balljoints and narrower strut tops but same subframe and wishbones.

Hi Sorry I don`t have any way of measuring the camber but the distant between strut tops (measured from the centre of the shock rods) is 110cm Hope this helps Adrian
