All small and front-wheel drive! Although the Focus is a fair bit bigger.
Go buy yourself a Vauxhall Cresta or a Pontiac Bonneville, that would break the pattern!

Mine always fit into one of 3 categories : Fun (often Retro) - 60s/70s Fords etc Fast (Nissan 200s, Lancia HF Turbo, etc) The cheapest thing I can find with Tax & Text ! (106s, AX, Escort, BL, etc) There's never a dull day

I've got a bit of a thing for RWD and pop-up headlamps. Current dailies are a Porsche 968 and MK1 MX-5. If only there was a decent estate car with these characteristics I could compete the hat trick!

Nearly all of mine have all been housebrick shaped - as high as they are wide, only exception being my first car a Triumph Dolomite.
smart city coupe - house brick on it's side smart roadster - flat house brick nissan cube - house brick on it's side second nissan cube - house brick on it's side nissan elgrand - house brick on it's side
oh the cuore didn't fit this but that was bought as a cheap daily rather than my usual aesthetic tastes.

My cars tend to go in phases, 72 Australian Ford Fairmont wagon I guess if there IS a theme here it is biggish saloons with sporty aspirations Steve Got any more details on the Fairmont wagon, I think at one point they were collecting details over on the AusFord website of the ones that were sold in the uk. Quite a few have survived! If I remember right, the reg was HYV 2K, 1972 dark green Fairmont Station wagon with black trim, 351 V8 and column shift auto. I owned it during 85 and 86 having bought it from an american lady who lived on Taggs island at Hampton court. Again, may be memory fade, but it was a UK car from new, not a later import and something tells me it was sold by Ford PIE through Grays of Guildford. Steve

Lot of blue ovals in the past; 4 Sierras, 2 Cortinas, 2 Capris, 2 Escorts.
Now that I'm ancient and insurance isn't an issue, I'm sort of working through the stuff I like but couldn't afford in the 90s and early noughties. Thus an Alfa 156, a Saab, a Primera GT. Next I'm think S-Type Jag but various Alfas are also quite appealing.

Yup all mine were cheap. I rarely if ever spent over £500.
If it was what I classed as being cheap and unlikely to loose money on it I tended to buy it, sometimes going through 3/4 cars a year.
I've had some nice cars that were cheap bargains like my 205 gti and Golf gti both sub £400 buys at the other end of the scale I had an Espace and Cherokee because well variety is the spice of life.

For me, as far as toys go it's mainly been 2 door, mainly coupe or similar, mainly large engined, mainly american. I've had the occasional trip into 4 door territory but not very often. That might change now I'm old(er) and sensible(er).

*impressive list incoming*
95 Nissan Micra 1.0L L in flame red - good car with a good engine and rust everywhere 04 Seat Arosa 1.0L S in Azul Canica Blue (worlds palest blue?) - least responsive car I've ever driven. practical rear end though and nice steering weight 01 Suzuki Swift 1.0L GLS in Suzuki Silky Silver - a surprisingly able little all rounder with the best High beams I've tried and the lightest controls 93 Nissan Micra 1.3L Super S in Greenish Blue Pearl - like the other Micra but faster and quieter and has a sunroof and less rust
So as long as it's a small FWD three door hatchback that's probably Japanese and has an engine like a smoothy maker I'm sold apparently.
