Ok so recently replaced all the belts/rad on my pajero, at the time i chucked water into the rad to get me going, picked up some coolant, the water in there is dirty already so I'm going to do a flush and replace with lovely new coolant.
From what i understand the block drain is an absolute curse word to get to, draining the rad is easy, tap at the bottom easy to get to with undertray off.
Now what I'm thinking.. is can i just drain the rad with the tap, then run the car? Surely the water pump will chuck all the water from the block around and out of the bottom of the rad? As long as i don't let it overheat I'm golden, right? Means i don't have to get to the block drain plug.
And surely if i let it cool between drains i should have no problems running the rad flush in there and doing the same again to get it all out?
The alternative is i just drain the rad, keep topping up with water and flushing that way. but apparently you only get around 5L out at a time that way and it has a 8/9L Capacity so realistically I'm never going to get a full drain.
Either I'm missing something and I'm an idiot or this should work?
