Who would paint their RR like this?

Tbh looking at it I do like it. And could be tempted when I get the car sprayed.

Was kind of thinking do the bonnet and wings, as I'm going frp anyway for them.

That'll be a vinyl wrap as opposed to paint. There is a local sign makers who has wrapped his 2-3year old Audi A4 with digitally tailored rusty panels, so rather than just being 'rust', it is rusty on swage lines, door bottoms, has moss etc. Very good advertising tool. But I digress. I'd look at painting it white then getting that done as a wrap as I would imagine id personally get bored of that pretty quickly..

I've seen the Audi quite a few times now and I really like it. Quite impressive attention to detail and actually looks a lot better than any 'forced patina' cars I've ever seen.

As you say, a great advertising tool because it's the only modern car that's rally made me sit up and pay attention recently.

I would love to have my CL500 wrapped to look like it was riveted together with steel panels. There was a Volvo Amazon is SM once that was painted that way and I loved it!

Neighbour came home with his 450SL like that one day along with massive dented bonnet and broken windscreen. It wasn't an animal that did the damage either

In the early 2000s there was a Beach Buggy in Volksworld magazine that the builder had hung the body vertically from the ceiling and then poured paint on to... it looked pretty cool.

Always wanted to do something like this with a few bloody hand prints too but not sure i would enjoy getting pulled over all the time and having to explain " no officer i painted my car like this "

Probably unrelated but a few years ago now some local lads made it into the papers by managing to get hold of a bucket of offal from the butchers and smearing it all over the front of their car before driving at speed into the local car wash and yelling at the poor guys who worked there to clean it off quickly whilst they looked shifty as fook might've been an April fools or summat.

Whether you like it or not, it's a very clever bit of work, both in design & application, looking as convincing as it does. Certainly makes you look - which was the main intention, I guess.
