OK so the first thing I did when I bought the car home was check it over properly...like you're supposed to do before you hand over money I discovered that it was in a terrible state and I didn't trust a single nut or bolt on the car Some pictures of the investigation work...

Rust is in the usual places, Sills inner and outer Rear bumper mounts Front and rear jacking points but also in the nearside rear wheel arch and there are holes in the floor where it used to have a bolt in roll cage and they are rusty too so at this point I thought I'm going to start stripping things out of the car and I found, to my horror, things like seats missing bolts and loose bolts in the wheels. I realised pretty quick this car this car isn't to be trusted and I needed to do a full rebuild Here's some more pictures the front suspension was in a terrible state, very rusty and the springs are loose The engine bay has a lot of trick parts but its very untidy and needs updating

I like the electric blue colour it is now. It's a phase 1 so the bumpers will be paint to replicate the original "not painted" look. It will look almost standard apart from clio 16v turbine wheels Like this but with side repeaters but with these wheels in a dark grey colour and polished rim

Nice project, love the wheel choice, love the fact you're going to re-phase 1 it, but... I'd like to see it back to its original red, especially as it's being taken back to Phase 1 look. Having said that the French car looks good in the blue, looks a lot better with the change of colour for the bumpers.
Just goes to show how all that glistens is not gold, looks clean on the original photo.

Cool project - takes me back to when I was 17..... yearning for an R5 Raider!!
Don't see many about now, will look great reverted back to ph1 trim - understated and typically french!
Keep up the good work, are you planning on going back to original with the engine, or keeping the upgrades that came with the car?
Looking back I remember the Carisma kitted cars with massive installs, etc - hideous!!
So glad that the daft body kit phase passed!!

Good choice going back to the Ph1 look, they're a bit rarer and cooler I reckon. Electric blue is good because it's still a colour they did Ph1's in
