It was great fun for me, too. Come on, folks! I know Jack is still looking for cars - there must be some more of you in the midlands or north Wales with interesting cars ...

Apologies for the slow update on this! I've not been too well this last couple of weeks as I have been working flat out in my day job and doing this on the side. So, sorry to those I had to cancel on. I would love to get something re-booked soon, especially now spring is upon us! In other news, I'll be getting the blog post up asap for the 71' Beetle I shot early last month 1457804545587 by Jack Mason, on Flickr And in about 3 weeks time, i'll be publishing the full picture set for Mike's 31' Austin Seven. 2016-03-17_04-22-31 by Jack Mason, on Flickr Cheers Jack

I never updated this with Mike's Austin Seven. Here is the blog I did for that: jamasonphotography.wordpress.com/2016/04/08/31-austin-seven-412/I'v been working away from home a lot this last two months so my May feature might be a tad late in the month and may actually come from a track weekend I am attending so could feature a variety of cars. Cheers for reading Jack

No worries Jack, i've pretty busy here too. Give me a shout though, would be great to do something. Bought it as "mint" and had a lot of work done on it... also from 87-02 had the same owner so pretty original up to then with service history.
Speak soon, Chris

Not sure if this is of any interest to you...? (the grill has now been swapped back to the original BTW - the above looked a bit too Barryboys for my liking...) Just finished sticking a new roof, carpets and seats in, I'm Midlands based (Burton On Trent/Derby). If this appeals, let me know....

I am currently organising a shoot of an Audi 80 Quattro this week. Once that is done and dusted and the post is up, i'll give you a shout and pop over. I can manage the Derbyshire area pretty easily. Cheers Jack

Hi jamason, Thanks for that - hopefully we can sort something out. I might be a little preoccupied for the next couple of weeks (or so...) since my daily driver got written off today; it was parked in an car park outside the garage awaiting a service and MOT on Sunday when an uninsured individual smashed into the front of it.... So I've got the joy of that to deal with in the first instance. Hopefully it won't be (too) painful (although given it involves insurance companies, it likely will be)...

Hi, I don't know if you're still looking for projects? This is on the South Wales Coast in case that's too far out for you. In the mid 1970's my Dad spotted a dejected, neglected rusting heap in the middle of some bramble bushes & bought it as a project without really knowing what it was, (for the Princely sum of £20.00!) Many parts were missing or unusable. The original log book declared the car to be a 1959 Lotus-Ford Mk VI. It has the Ford 1172 side-valve '8hp' engine. Over a decade later, after endlessly searching Autojumbles, dismantling donor cars & learning skills to shape replacement panels, etc. he got the car back on the road. It has since taken Concours. He regularly shows it, takes it to Castle Combe classic days, etc. These photos were taken in Castle Combe village after last year's Autumn Classics event; Lotus' first venture into 'production' meant that cars could be supplied from the Lotus works or in 'kit' form, they used a variety of engines & mechanicals from the basic Ford sidevalve through MG X-PAG to Coventry Climax, even a 2 litre BMW lump found it's way into one. They were tremendously successful in races & made racing a relatively affordable pastime, (as well as being a usable sports car). Approximately 110-120 Mk VI's were built, the survival rate is reasonably good and specialist firms are now building replicas. The Lotus Mk VII was spawned from the success of the Mk VI. The spaceframe was produced by The Progress Chassis Company. If you had a works car, Lotus would tune the engine of your choice. Unless you were doing it all yourself, the bodywork specialists Williams & Pritchard made all the panels. By 1959 the Lotus VII had been in production for a couple of years, it seems that a small run of 'late' Mk VI's were made up, possibly by mechanics from the Lotus works & associated firms, (the chap who built this car worked as a Chassis Builder at Progress). This Mk VI is often mistaken for a Mk VII S1 as it was fitted with Mk VII nosecone rather than the shorter Mk VI nosecone. We've plenty of photos during the restoration. I haven't asked my Dad if he'd do it but I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem. If you're interested, let me know & I'll ask him. There are photos of the car being built in the 1950's in this Album; Lotus VI

This is certainly something worth travelling down to shoot. Send me through a Private message with a rough location and some ideas of a time that suits you and i'll see what I can do! Cheers Jack

Just wondering how this project went? It just sort of faded away, did you finish what you set out to do, or is there still more to come?
