I've wanted to make a thread about trying to get the old gal back on the road for a while now and thought I might get an energy boost with it if I started to post up what I've done then update it all up as i go. I started at it summer 2013 and progress is slow, but positive since then. I've always liked taking photos so forgive me if I get carried away with it all.
Back Home as bought
As far as I know the engine feels ok, but it had a fair bit of rot underneath around the drive shaft tunnels and other bits dotted about. The brakes were a bit shot and plenty of running gear bits looking ready to break / fall off It needs more work than I've ever done on any car before. This is my first proper build. I've got an old beemer too that I started on, but after getting started on it was too scared to carry on. So I'm going to try to boost my bravery by jumping into the saab with both boots. That said, I've always loved this shape saab, can't wait to put it into daily use. Here's how It started, poking about.
And on with whats going on under the waterline.
Lower drivers side wishbone with socket shaft poked through: Nice
All looking a bit tired / dodgy
It was a few years ago now, but I'm sure the calliper was missing its piston!
I'll try to get up to date as quick as I can. Got a fair few photos to upload etc. Thanks for having a look.
