Another week, another round of mini work...
As the rear subframe was attached last time, I pushed forward the progress there and hit some milestones. First up, the rear brakes were rebuilt (including new slave cylinders) and put back together with the new lines and braided flex hoses...
...once done, I re-housed the suspension with the new HiLo's and ticked the box that was "rear subframe"
Wheels are on! To be honest, this was just for the picture, as we have a few things still to do back there. Excluding paint, that list looks like:
-Reconnect brake split union
-Bleed rear brakes
-Re-attach handbrake mechanism
-Run tank in and connect fuel line (possibly replace)
Whilst I has getting the greasy finger, Mitch was busy getting dusty with the bodywork prep...
By close of play, the shell now had:
- Completely flattened NSR quarter
- Completely flattened and primered OSF wing
- Completely flattened and primered OSR quarter
- Flattened and test primered NSF wing. After drying, we noticed a few ripples here so some knocking with a dolly and filler may be needed here.
- Front end still to be done, along with A panels, pillars and sills.
One area that had remained untouched was the rear end. I was playing with my TVR on Sunday so decided to strip the parts off the rear in preparation for this. Obviously, I got carried away...
...and completed the whole rear end to the first coat of black paint.
