We've been recently enthralled by Bruce's ( Mystery Machine) recent odyssey to Canada for the object of his desire, a Porsche 912 and it set me to wondering what everybody else lusted after? My object is below. So, one picture and a few words are all that's necessary. I give you the Salamanda. Currently for sale, it's a recent build Austin 7 special from Oliver Way whose other creations can be found here sadly in Finnish. This picture is my pc wallpaper and I stare at it for far too long.

I saw that for sale myself I couple of weeks ago. Up until that point I had no interest in prewar cars but that thing is really special!

The object of my desire isn't a car in particular, it lies in finally working hard on my cars to get them to a state where I can just get in and drive them for thousand of miles at a time. For the first time of my life I have a proper workshop with plenty of tools, friends to help me and share good times working on cars, a nice steady income that allows for parts galore, from a job where I can get stuff sanded and painted. The Alfa is still back in my hometown far away and in need of a 'light' restoration, the Maser still needs plenty of work before it can be back on duty. So, to answer the initial question: I think I'd take the Maserati to RRG and the Alfa to the Villa d'Este.

well, if it's true heart's desire, why set your standards too low? I'd have #1 of 1 Mazda's hypersonic breadvan RX500 ....I'd settle for a Pantera, mind

Never owned a Yank Tank and probably never will but if I could it would have to be a 65 Riviera

240/60/80z. With a G-nose please. * * I may or may not still be slightly bitter about getting outbid on a 260Z in the last few seconds, and then ending up having to buy a rotten old Ford Escort

A '63 Impala with air ride is really ringing my bell at the moment. tomorrow I could be back to Sixties Corvettes and Camaros. However, if we're really going down the dream car route, I was one of many at the NEC last year who just stood open mouthed staring at this.

There's so many things, but for a long time the money no object lustings have been one of these, the hard part would be choosing the colour. On a slightly more down to earth level the Dual Factory C130 Laurel does things to me. I do like a girl with hips.

My perfect car would look like the original Countach. But it wouldn't drive like one and there's the problem - not only does my perfect car not exist, but it can't exist. Perhaps an Accord Type-R engine'd Elan 2+2 would get close, though. See, the ability to carry passengers, get good fuel economy, have good parts availability, and plenty of punch in a car that is small and weighs nothing, and is great to chuck about, is calm on the motorway but an absolute nutcase on B-roads, yet forgiving and competent.. Well that's why i drive a 1985 1.6 16v carb'd VW Polo. If i had to come up with my own concept (not that this isn't - i was the first i'd known of to make one in the '00s) it'd be very different but also a bit like the impossible triangle - it couldn't be built.

Because of being a man of incriminating bad taste, My dream motor for many a year is a 1987 Cavalier Calibre. Not terribly aspirational BUT it's all I need.

This would do me just fine... But... I sometimes wonder that if I did own one, whether the thirst of that 3.3 six and two-speed auto 'box might get a bit much after a while. So maybe I'd have to have two, one to be kept standard and one with some nice modern upgrades.
