been doing a bit of work for the Mot.new discs/pads all round, handbrake cable/shoes,front and rear droplinks and rear shockers which resulted in a pass. all for the princely sum of £75 for the parts thanks to the "Amazon" sell off. John

I've got a spare x30xe and gearbox which if I get the time would quite like to put in something retro and rwd,mgb or chevette maybe. Yeah this engine - for me - was the best part of the Omega. Smooth and not too thirsty considering its output. Looking at your signature you must be 'Omega Man' so I hope you're not insulted by that observation! Stick it in a Chevette. I am biased having started my driving days in a Chevanne.

I bought the Haynes Omega manual for a bit of bedtime reading so I do have a certain fondness for them. But that engine interests me the most. Are they much transplanted in the UK? Can't remember seeing anyone using one on RR.

Reliant Scimitars are a popular choice. John.

I have a BMW diesel from an Omega saloon to go in my 110 sometime soon.
I have my suspicions you mean the V6 petrol lump though.

Reliant Scimitars are a popular choice. John. Ah thanks. Interesting - led me to this thread. daslandroverman wrote Yes the petrol one. I've been dieseling for so many years I'm quite enjoying the 'super' again.

Reliant Scimitars are a popular choice. John. A growing community 3 on the road (soon to be 5 and another 2 in the pipeline) running the V6, plus a couple of TD's.

Were there actually that many Omega V6s sold in the UK? Still quite a few around here with prices bottoming out. Wasn't that link that I posted to that Scimitar conversion the first one? You probably know him Phil H ? I'm looking at running front wheel drive with the Vectra gearbox ( F20?) joined to the V6. Don't want to despoil your thread zippygte . It is still within the Omega world !

The black one was the first V6 conversion (the first Omega engine conversion strictly speaking was a 2.5 TD, now owned by scimjim ); it inspired me to do mine: www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=9498I do know Nathan and he helped me with mine, and have chatted with the car's current owner - Smiler of this very parish. Just to confuse things, the second one to hit the road is also a black SE6a - built and owned by lozzzzzz They sold pretty well over here - a favourite with the Police (that's where both Nath's and mine came from). Apologies for the hijack from me too!

I've always fancied an Omega V6 estate. But I tend to keep my daylies for ages and the two times in the last 10 years ive been looking for a dayly all the Omegas I could find were dogs or 4 cylinder. It would have to be the full 3 litr/3.2 version. I ended up buying e-classes instead and put up with autos. There is still a big Vauxhall itch to scratch though I did have a 24V senator for a few months but killed the autobox towing a caravan. Anyway lovely car.

I've got both, the Tourer and an Elite 3.0 auto and to be honest I was anti autos before I got the Elite but now very much prefer them especially in omegas as the manual gear change isn't great.

Cracking motors. I had the 3.0 Elite with an auto box, full Bose system etc which was a dream to drive and pulled like a train. Unfortunately the left head gasket popped so moved it on. Prices are very low for a great car though.
