Bit of a odd one , aimed at MOT testers and garage workers - is it possible to work out where a garage/mot centre is by there mot centre number ?
Its a long shot but I'm trying to find my first car . From the Dvla info its tucked up somewhere , only doing a few hundred miles a year between mot's .
If i can trace some of the centres perhaps i can find it via a local group [ its a mini ] .
Can anyone help ?

Silly question perhaps, but have you tried the mini forums?

Yes tried that quite a few times Many people don't go on there but in a blue moon or not at all . It obviously owned by a enthusiast but not on forums . My thinking was that if i can find a local mini club on social media then someone will most likely know of it , either through meets or friends of friends .

Yeah, I know what you mean. Let me know if it turns out to be up North, I know a few of the bigger clubs round here.

Somewhere on t'internet there is a dvla/vosa published list. It's about 4-5 years old now.
When I go near a pc later I'll find it.

Does anyone know what the VTS number is [ vehicle testing station ] in relation to the 12 digit test centre number on the dvla mot record site ? Is the vts a shorter number of it ?

Hi, Nothing, the 12 digit number is the individual test number.

Cheers i have looked on that link someone posted above but either you cant search by number or its does not show them unfortuately . I typed in the number on google followed by MOT and I think the second result showed the test station, the website I posted a link to came up so I just posted a link to the homepage. You are right it doesn't work it doesn't work if you just type the number in.

only other way you could try is to go to your local test centre with the vehicle details and ask for a duplicate MOT, then you'll get the info you need provided they don't ask you for proof of ownership etc ..

That looks like the last test certificate number to me. The VTS number is usual alpha numerical rather than a long number like that

I have been barking up the wrong tree all along . That number is the test number so i have nothing to go on . Unless someone can check somehow where it was taken . Thanks for all the help so far anyway guys

Yes that looks like the certificate number. Sorry I should have read the previous messages earlier. If you are using the MOT test history check they only list the certificate number. Before, using the old system where you need the reg document number you could get the test station number.
It does look like they have made some useful improvements but missed some things out.
