Hi all, got a 1998 Renault Kangoo 2 birth camper to collect tomorrow. Its a bit sad as a rear torsion bar has snapped so the offside rear is sat on the tire. On the good side its a 1.9 diesel, elevating roof with decent little conversion for 2. Should be a quick turn around on this one.

Looks a tidy little van, will be interested in how the layout is inside. Having done 2 camper conversions in the past in much larger vans I know how difficult it is to get everything in! On the plus side the rear axle is a simple fix, are you going to just replace the torsion bar or replace the whole rear axle?

Its not too bad, needs some welding on the rear sills for its next mot. I will rebuild the axle, new torsion bars and bearings. The layout is not bad, roof goes up, hob, sink and quite a bit of storage.

That's pretty cool, great little weekend camper, I may have to look out for one to nick bits off for my VW.

Hi there
yes they are a great little vehicle.
I spent most of yesterday swapping the rear axle. It was a complete pig as I had to remove the interior to get to the bolts holding it on.
The new rear axle is fitted and the camper now sits as it should, got new rear wheel cylinders, shoes and brake pipes to fit on Tuesday. I can then set to cleaning and refitting the interior.Even though it all looks tidy in the pics its in quite a state, the carpets will all be cleaned and then the units repaired and cleaned before refitting.I will also be fitting a proper split charge system and a leisure battery.
Apart from that it just needs the rear of both sills repairing for its new mot.
Hopefully finished and up for sale in a week or so.
Cheers - mike
