Today went to the refurbished British Motor Museum at Gaydon www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/
Was there before they opened so mate & me were 2nd & 3rd through the revolving door. Mate, along with the other 1st chap, got interviewed and various photo's taken for news articles and I think TV - I declined and kept out of the way as I'm shy
We were even the first to use the refurbished toilets ! Mate was also first to be told off for opening a door of a car.
Brilliant day out but best was the reserve collection that previously hasn't been available for public viewing. Unfortunately you only are allowed a limited time in this area (25 mins each floor)and can't see a faction of what is stored there during that period. You have to be escorted to this area but there is no limit to the number of times you can go as long as you get a star token for the visit each time from the main building. I'm disabled so was allowed into the reserve collection building in advance of the other public as it's separate from the main museum so I'd have got left behind if trying to go across with the main group.
If you agree to Gift Aid (no cost) then your ticket is valid for a whole year so you can go back as many times as you want to main museum and reserve collection with no further charge. I'm laminating both tickets as I reckon I only saw 10% of what interested me despite being there most of the day. Staff and volunteer helpers brilliant and always had time to talk to anyone.
Quite a few things / activities for children of all ages to do so could be somewhere to consider if you want a family day out. Food a little pricey but a large area indoors upstairs with tables where you can eat your own sandwiches.
I'm resisting going back next week - only because it's half term !
Loads of prototypes and concept cars.
Only none British car was a BMW Dixi.
