Thanks! Really need a new roof ideally but I'm not sure the best way of doing that haha It leaks a little bit when the rain is mega heavy Hi, In case this is of use to you, i used these guys:- www.vsfgaragerepairsuk.com/our-products.htm£1700 or thereabouts, the garage was about 11ft wide and 22ft long. Metal sheet with felt underside. Money really well spent. Regards, Chris.

Just buy yourself some box profile roofing sheets and replace like for like, it shouldn't leak if there is a decent fall... Fibreglass roofing is cheap too, plywood then glass over the top

Try box profile galvanised sheets with this stuff underneath - great insulation & really quiet in the rain. They also deliver UK wide! www.secondsandco.co.uk/#!product-page/c1n8h/c3f322c1-51b7-16f8-5cf9-be69011fbf94

I'm sure you can get them cheaper, but price is per board & not necessary to buy pallet load. Seconds quality for my garage and barn meant a few minor corner dinks so not bad at all with saving over 1st grade. Up to you what you do, just giving an option from experience.

Took a gamble on a cheap 3hp 150ltr Wolf compressor , I use wolf soldering irons at work and despite being home shopping network products they've always impressed me , much better than weller and pyropens that are 8 times the price! Didn't want the compressor inside the work area so set about doing this .... Wire it up via a 20amp cooker switch with built in socket and 2.5mm twin and Earth thru a 20amp rcd. I've ordered a 9metre hard line air line to have three outlets on the workshop , two inside and one in another external room on the other side ( I'm thinking sandblast / paint area) , but it's not arrived . Fired up the compressor though , did 110psi in 4-5 mins so happy with that! In other news , I have a new addition to the house :-) Pics up of the hard lines and installation soon

Mysterious parcel turned up today! Haha! It's the wall mounted airline kit , 9metres of 15mm plastic pipe , all speedfit push connectors and proper wallmounted quick release fittings , and a flexible pipe to mount the compressor pipe onto , gonna have two outlets inside the workshop and another one in a small working area around the back wall , for spraying and sandblasting in a designated area! Might get time to fit them this week! Nice!

Well little update time , sharing my experiences.. The workshop is making me a little sad as of late , as a result i've lost my motoring mojo and the cars suffered neglect. The issue i've had is the weather. Cold weather makes condensation form on the roof and just drips on everything! Wet weather exposes the roofs leaky spots and more water drops in ! Wind combined with the rain managed to force water through the wall , which is aeriated breeze block and curse word mortar! Ideally I need to find something I can load into the spray gun i have with the compressor and seal the walls , then fix the roof , I think the insulation panels from that seconds place might work , but not sure how to attach them. Other good news is i've been talking to a local old timer workshop ramp engineer and got a lead on some old Kismet 2 post lifts , should be available February! Anyone a roofer/builder fancy a job in exchange for workshop time or work?

I had an old Kismet 2 post lift and believe me when i say this they are incredibly heavy and i wouldnt want to assembly / disasemble another one. Make sure you have skates and lots of helpers is all I'm saying.
Oh and it was next to useless for me as even a standard height e46 struggled to get on there as the arms are so deep and not low enough to the floor. Therefore with everything i have been lowered nothing i owned would fit on it apart from some of my mates cars. I got rid of mine in the end

With regards to the condensation and driving rain/moisture, have you considered insulating externally and cladding the external walls rather than tanking the inside walls?

I'm a little bit limited for space externally on one of the walls as the compressor room and shed is mounted up against it and a huge 10ft hedge. I was thinking of painting the walls internally with a Latex style paint , ideally with compressor setup. insulating the rear door a bit and the roof. I just wish my mates lived nearer to help

I suppose it depends if it's condensation forming on the inside or damp coming in from the outside.
Tanking the inside won't cure condensation. You'd have to find a way of controlling the internal temperature (so it's the same as the outside) or adding additional ventilation.
