Always wanted a 309 Goodwood. Owned a Ford fiesta Finesse... only mine had the color coded bumpers and Ghia interior... so cool! I think the award for 80's / 90s special editions must go to the mini... I think it is something like: Special Rio Jet Black / Red Hot Sprite Racing Green / Flame British Open classic Advantage Italian Job 25 30 35 40 Park Lane / Mayfair / Ritz / Chelsea Studio Monte Carlo Rose / Sky Cabriolet ERA I sure there were more.....

Most mini ones were just stickers and interior. Some had special colours, my Tahiti was the first to have the Tahiti Blue paint which ended up being on loads of Rovers afterwards. As well as the factory Mini editions, there were a fair few Cooper ones aswell, some from Rover and some from John Cooper garages.

]I'm fairly certain that is my mates old car, had a few oem upgrades to give it about 70bhp? i sold it in 2006 ish, yeah had larger bore inlet manifold, dmtl weber, electronic ignition. last i heard it was covered in algae under an old yew tree in a church yard, with a ludicrous price tag Yup that's the one. My mate sold it to someone he worked with who left it dumped in a church yard that one of his relatives looked after, he eventually weighed it in after no one was prepared to pay over the odds for it. Shame because it was a very good little car

Basically a 205 GTI but with a 1.8 turbo diesel engine (same engine as in my 309) don't see many of them at all, think I've seen maybe 3 in the metal, and never seen one for sale anywhere. make the Mk2 golf GTD seem common. First one i saw was in said scrapyard i mentioned in my first post, alas they wouldn't let me buy it (class B insurance write off.. it only needed a door and a wing....)

I had a Peugeot 106 Mardi Gras as my first car. The only thing special about it were some horrible graphics on the side and a silly centre piece for the steering wheel. Needless to say I debadged it as soon as I could!

I had a MK2 Fiesta Olympus sport as my second car. It was the nearest thing I could get to insuring an XR2 at 18 years old. It had a 1.4 CVH on a webber carb, ghia/XR2 dash and a one off bodykit with the obligatory stickers. My friends used to hold onto that spoiler at base of the rear window and pretend they were pushing a shopping trolley.

My mum had a Metallic Grey Renault 5 Event, based on the 5 TR. But with colour coded wheel trims (metal of memory serves) and different interior. I rolled it and stuck it in a ditch. Was just over a year old (E Reg) and somebody rebuilt it!!! Was still in the road till 2001 if I remember correctly, I did an MOT check on it though strangely it was listed as 1400cc when it was a (I think) 1237cc Found a link to Renault 5 models, the Event is listed alongside other limited editions. Linky! www.renault-5.net/usa_super_5.htm
