Hello People, Been lurking a while always on here taking a nosy at for sale ads and build threads not really a forum guy but this place rules. I used to have a Volvo 340 DL 3 Door that was sporting a 1.8 16v Clio engine on bike carbs but I couldnt afford to run it over the winter but missed it the minute it went so got looking for another. Got this car back in December 2015 just before Christmas sounds like it has changed hands a few times in the last few years and has had money owners many young meaning i think it has had a fair amount of abuse over the years. I do have a huge amount of history for the car including the old dear who first bought its insurance certificates etc... It has been painted various colors in the past but is now in the nicest color. Body is in ok nick baring in mind it was a garage paint job. Car came to me with some badly fitted bucket seats which filled me with hatred especially as they were at odd angles and were very uncomfortable fortunately the car came with the original interior so I fitted that along with some parts i got from a pal/breaker in kent. I wanted to have some fun in the car but wanted to keep most of the interior the same the seats are uber comfy. Have done some recent work and adjustments to the suspension as the ride height is odd so expect some new pictures soon in the mean time enjoy. I also found out the cambelt hasn't been done since 1997!!!! So that is a matter of urgency

Good afternoon, Nice volvos. Got a 340 in the garage that'll be going on the road soon. Just wondering where you got those Volvo stickers? I'd love one of them. Also, on your 340 & 360 - what wheel sizes & offsets were they? Iv just bought Spring & lowering blocks & want my stance similar to yours. Just looking into wheels now. Any info would be great. Thanks, Dean.

Always wanted one and could afford insurance which was weird however I never had the cash for one. Considering it was a mk1 '91 auto 1.7 it surprised a load of people but the body roll was horrendous.

So I havent had a lot of time off recently and having time to play with the volvo is proving hard so I sent the car off to a close friend to have the cambelt and fluids changed which took longer than expected as things "broke" but the cambelt hadnt been done since 1997 so was well overdue. With the car back in my hands I couldnt wait to fit more pointless satisfying stuff... First up was an old 1990s handfree kit I found in an old rover 820i in the local breakers along with a matching (working) may I add nokia 3310. Bracket Fitted then to fit the cradle and loud speaker... I then wanted to fit my newly purchased 80s graphic equalizer not yet wired in but still looks the part imo I bought some l brackets from wilkos and it fits nicely under the dash... Now an overview of how that all looks together with some other additions I have not mentioned in previous posts..(Gearstick and Steering Locks) Note grandad beads for extra comfort ahah Next up was some guages I bought ages ago each showing different info volts, oil temp, coolant temp as I don't trust the 30 year old guages also found that old cans make good pods fitted my compass/thermometer as well. Guages not wired in as of yet though.. Had an old sat nav sitting round gathering dust so i fitted that for more accurate speed and for getting to shows, found my old phone holder which I'm hoping to store an ipod in at some point. Last job of the day was to fit my mk1 duckbill spoiler as the first attempt had failed as it sat too low.. so I raised it and screwed it into the valance recently acquired some grill badges off a volvo 940 at a local breakers. Thats all for now will probably post some more serious stuff next time.

I don't get alot of time to work on the car but I managed to get the car out on Thursday night to a local car meet makes all the hard work worth it when I see it in pictures starting to come together.

That car is dirty. Dirty in a good way.
The interior touches and the cassette tapes... #Bitchin'. No matter how you slice that thing, it comes up TASTY.

So I got round to fitting some other things such as Mr oizo, fitted my period stickers although didn't know one of them paper based so it won't last long... Fitted my snooper as well actually works still picks up speed cameras nice and early also got my lane changer mirror looks Canadian patent still pending! Fitted a small blackett for those summer night picnics and it looks better than a beaten up floor. Thanks Alex they really get under your skin!

Not very exciting but had some spare time this weekend so decided to fit my lower blocks found that one of the bolt on the ones had snapped so this job was long over due plus it seems they have used all sorts of weird washers and bolts plus the blocks themselves didnt match at all. I also had an issue with my clocks recently not illuminating so I pulled the whole lot out and spent quite a while trying to work out why it had voltage but didnt work ended being a lose connection tugged on the wire and they worked so lesson learnt always yank the wires first... 80s greenesss! Also got some pictures of the rear of the car now got the rear shelf speakers wired up and fitted garfield... Next thing really is to fit the roof rack and a few other little bits...
