I'm just gathering all info I can for next project
How would one go about lowering these barges? Seen the basic lowering springs, was wondering if there were different combos of springs/struts that were better......possibly air ride?
If there's links to simalar/identical to this please direct me, I have tried the search button but it's rubbish........I have registered on total Carlton but still awaiting approval (been days!)

I'm sure I read somewhere that mk2 golf coilovers can be made to fit? I might be totally wrong but I'm sure someone had fitted them.

What carlton is it that you have? I Currently have a GSi and the ride height is just about fine in standard trim. I do have air shocks in the back end to assist when carrying a load, it helps a lot. The front struts have fixed cups and some additional bracketry for antiroll bar links, brake hoses and this makes finding replacements a challenge i have found. Ive had 2 Carlton hearses as well

Currently don't have a Carlton yet, just researching different things, Gotta finish the s/c mini
But this will definitely be the next project.
So did they come with air shocks as an option? Or is it a custom job

Or is it a custom job The air shocks were an option,on the estates they seemed to be norm though. The Lotus ones had them as standard though as they had a height sensor and compressor that kept the car level at high down force speeds. There were two lengths of air shocks from memory that fitted, if you got the wrong ones they were too short for the saloon. I made that mistake before i got the correct ones What Carlton were you thinking of getting?

Well my Gsi will be up for sale in the next week or two, but i guess that it may be out of your price. The 2L goes really well though, i used to thrash my two hearses around despite the extra length and weight.

Haha, cool, bet that was a sight
Yeah, 2.0 more my sort of price range unfortunately. Would of loved the gsi!!
Maybe do a c20ne turbo....or go by Jonny a's c20let conversion,
Apparently bolts to the 2.0 box without to much fuss
