I'm listing this for my parents, so any questions, phone 01525 220177 and ask for Denis or Margret.
This is their Peugeot 306, 1.9 non-turbo diesel. The fuel pump has developed a leak, which is the reason they are getting rid. Otherwise, it runs like a sewing machine and has never really let them down in 11 years of ownership. It's got MOT till 28th October 2016.
It's got 211017 miles on the clock but has been maintained regularly and has had everything it's needed. In the last year it's had a new powersteering pump, alternator, Cambelt, tensioner, boot solenoid and 3 new glow pugs. The 4th glowplug has been cross threaded at some point, so it was left alone just in case. It runs a little rough on startup due to this, but a blip on the throttle sorts it out.
It has central locking and two keys, one of them is a remote but the button is knackered. The bodywork has suffered at the hands of my Mum, I've tried to show this in the photos. The lacquer is peeling on the top of the drivers side doors and there are two chips in the windscreen. It's not going to win any concours events. There is a bit of wear on the drivers seat bolster which I have photographed.
It has four good tyres, however I am told the front nearside leaks very slowly. They pump it up once every couple of months. Maybe just the seal against the rim?
As stated above, the reason for getting rid is the diesel pump has started leaking. It's a Lucas pump and it looks like the leak is at the end furthest from the cambelt. I've tried to photograph it as best I can.
There is a Haynes book to go with the car too.
Despite all the little faults, my parents insist it's been a great car and never given them any trouble. Once the leak is sorted it'll be a good runaround/workhorse. They only want £150 for it. If you are interested, ring 01525 220177 and ask for Margret or Denis. They'll be happy to answer any questions.
